Oh yeah, today is Presidents day, and those two guys deserve it. One helped start this country. While they other helped to save it. It's mainly for them, and only for them.

One last thing; hey, we are only a day away from a RORY AND LOGAN EPISODE. Of course it was not advertised like that...but who cares? We all know that Gregg Henry returns. Good times. Good times.
King of the Hill rocks! I agree about Presidents Day. Washington and Lincoln deserve our respect.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Mitchum. I'm wondering how Logan will deal with his papa this season as compared to last.

Hopefully, leonana (I have been spelling your name wrong...sorry.) Logan will deal with his pops much much better than he did last year. It's about time he RISES UP.

No, not quite. You manage to blame Logan for anything and everything that has gone wrong with him & Rory, and give Rory a complete pass, like with Marty. And manage to not give him any credit for the fact that they have a strong 2+ year relationship. And I know it would be money in the bank, if only I could collect.

No he did not. You need to go actually watch the scene again, or read a transcript. Rory asks where he's getting 3 million dollars from, he says, his trust fund. He doesn't say it's his entire trust fund. What can be taken from that is that is the money he is able to get his hands on at the moment. Liquid cash. He's going to a hedge fund for the rest of it. They wouldn't back up his idea if they didn't think it was a sound investment worth putting their money into, as well. And he will likely never get a lump sum for his inheritence. You obviously don't know how large multi generational trust funds work. But they're not like you present, at all.

That makes no sense. There's an obvious line of succession. Elias seems to be retired, Mitchum is in charge. He's grooming Logan, has been for years, to take over HPG. Logan's the heir.

Where do you get that he's having problems finding investors? That's never been stated. He was meeting with a hedge fund manager to get the other 2 million, not panhandling on the street. And we don't know if Rory thinks this is an unwise investment. In IRBIP she was entusiastic about the project and seemed to think he needed to move as quickly as possible. Not that he was being rash or stupid. She agreed with him. The mention of immaturity has nothing to do with the investment itself, it has to do with Logan's reaction to failing for the first time. You seriously need to rewatch the scene, since your assumptions don't begin to match the dialogue in the scene itself.

While I would agree with you about her wanting him to take responsibility, I'm not sure where you're getting that he's running to Mitchum to bail him out. Mitchum's never mentioned after 15, certainly not in relation to the failure in 16. If you have more information than the rest of us, feel free to share. My curiosity is peeked. Because beyond wild spec, there's no basis for anything you've stated.

I would bother, but I think Secret & Jason both dealt with this quite nicely.

Where do you get ANY of this? It's certainly not from the show. I guess then Rory's just sitting at home knitting tea cozies while Logan's off playing business titan? In the version of the show you're watching. Last I checked she was finishing her final year @ Yale, begining to try to interview for jobs and/or consider grad school. They're both living their lives, and including the other in all aspects of it, if you actually listened to any of their conversations you might pick up on that. They're being supportive of one another, good times and bad. They're there for one another. They're 2 people that love one another, are making allowances for the fact thhat they don't live in the same city currently and doing everything possible to keep their relationship fresh & on track. Because it matters to them.

It's still more likely for Mitchum to inherit first, then leave the estate etc to Logan.

And that inheritance has little bearing on the size of Logan's trust fund or how it's set up. Maybe he's receiving interest, it sounds like he already has access to some or all of the principle ... $3 million does sound low for someone "with an American Express black card". We just don't know.

Isn't it all spec? We don't know if the investment was wise or wishful thinking. I liked MC saying Logan is passionate about it, about something other than Rory and drinking/poker and the LDB. While we've seen him engaged in the business world this year, we didn't know if he was merely excelling or actually cared about it.

Ah - that struck a chord. I'm still waiting to hear some discussion about where they go next year ... it feels unrealistic that they haven't even talked about that. They're supporting each other, yes, but I don't see them merging their lives, I guess I don't see those lives interacting yet.

It still feels like the only thing they did together was save the YDN, and that was a one-shot. It's like the only thing they share is their relationship. They discuss events after the fact, they don't plan together - at least, not yet.

Maybe that's why I'm still on the fence about whether this is an experience for Rory or a lifelong relationship. *ducks*

Laura, we are not paranoid. We are highly aware. Yeah that's the ticket! Also, is anyone, going to explain the freakin fish thing? Or will this be another bit of business that goes unexplained? Wow, caf, nice blinding defnese of your friend. If you are getting behind that, then you are not even close to knowing the real deal Holyfield. Merging lives...that's some nonsense right there. But, again, there seems to be a conspiracy on here from many a fan to heap a bunch of nonsense on Logan that has never been implied or stated on the show. Again, this place, is not all about BLINDLY SPECING. Sometimes the show gives you answer. You just have to be receptive to them.

ETA
TheJSW, it's only a small cat-goldfish war!
Because once upon a time SarahLovesLogan asked: Mag, what is UP with the Goldfish stuff? Seriously......... but the carolav's and Sandlyn's cats didn't eat the goldfish....
The moral of it? There're cat people, and goldfish people

Laura didn't lose the bet, it was ruled a tie despite what the judge decided.

Ok, I'm lost.

Do those goldfish posts have any cryptic spoiler? I'm seriously trying to figure how the tale correlates to this thread.
