Gotta love the Director's cut, Richard is acting like a five year old, LOL. No wonder that Emily wants to get rid of him, although I actually thought that Richard would want to get rid of her due the non-alcohol rule

The news about Season 8 don't surpise me too much, although it's a bit annyoing that it's all about the money. I think they already earn enough, doing S8 to get some more bucks only, well, from an artistic POV that's pretty poor - and very showbiz/Hollywood

I understand that SP wants to do a pilot to have something in case there shouldn't be a 8th Season, I guess some of the other actors might wanna do that, too. Wouldn't it be a blast, if LG and AB finally sign, but some others don't, because they already've something new?

Imo, the producers are really under time pressure ^^ and it shouldn't take too long until we get the final word about S8.

the cast imo deserves all the money they want - the more they merries everyone except DS and DSR

art goes out the window when you retire earlier and do something completely different like own a marina and just be on a lake somewhere -

No it wouldn´t. And although GG is about Lorelai and Rory, GG wouldn´t be GG without
SP, EH, KB or MC on board.......

I disagree, nst. I don't think they deserve all the money they want, they're good actors, but they don't do anything too change the world or stuff. They're just entertaining us. Whenever I read what some actors want - that's illusional and only works in the US. (Sure American productions make more money, than German Ones (Much, muc, much more

) A credited actor in Germany (aka the 15 German Stars we have) gets about 10.000 € a day at the most. Which is a lot of money imo, because as much I respect and adore actors, it's almost too much, if you look at the fact that a doctor in Germany only earns about 2000 € a month. It's a discrepancy, I'll never understand aka which I'll never find fair. My two Cents at least.

Exactly - I doubt they'd be able to continue doing the show without most of them. If that'd happen, I'd just laugh tears, 'cause that'd be the best gag every created by the show, I swear

Something we finally agree on.

I think that actors and athletes get paid way too much. I mean, AB makes more money in one episode than I make all year. Sure the money she makes affords her the designer clothes and the nice house and car, but how important is all that stuff in the grand scheme of things. I just think that there is too much emphasis on money and not enough on putting out a good product.

your right they are entertaining us - but that is a huge thing in this life to be entertained - yes we are supposed to have lives but if i didn't have my one hour of greys and my one hour of gg - i would be not as much as entertained

i need those two shows plus my life to make my life complete

they are actors yes and they are artistic and their art is entertaining me immensely they have a talent i don't have

they have actions and drama i appreciate and i think they are worth every penny -

Authors entertain us, too. Do they earn millions? No. (Well, JKR does with all the merchandise and movie rights and stuff

) I honestly find a good book just as entertaining, if not more entertaining, than an episode of any series.

As far as I know, a phone call scene is 2 scenes, for example a phonecall-scene between Rory and Lorelai could be like this:
scene 31pt is Rory on the phone
scene 32pt is Lorelai on the phone.

The 'pt' stands for partially, so it's part of something bigger (a phone call). They shoot phone calls separatly from each other; the other person doesn't even have to be on set that day, it could be shot on entirely different times. They use other people's voices to read the stuff from the 2nd person to get the timing right.

I sound confusing.

I've always found the money that sports figures and many actors make to be obscenely ridiculous - especially when compared to what teachers, police, social workers and others in the public interest make - but, it is a sad reality. The whole business is about money - products/commericals is what it is all about.

If they could find a way to put advertisements in novels and other books, I'm betting authors would make a great deal more money.

- although you're right, they even did that in Germany in the ~ 70s. At least I'm having two paperbacks from then with an add for Maggi

About the Rory on the phone scenes only - then they can skip her character for good, imo. And I don't think that some calls are what LG means with doing S8 only with AB.
