I think KAB is a great Rory, yes the old saying "can't picture anyone else in the roll" does apply so I don't see where people can call her a bad actor, she's new, this was her big break first time out and has had limited other rolls and from the ones I've seen IMO she is good very good. Maybe this is part of the reason she wants out (if she does) is she wants to do new stuff and not be stuck as Rory the rest of her acting life. That maybe too late and is likely to take years before she is not seen as Rory. The same IMO applies to Lauren, Scott and most of the top cast, it's just what happen with long sunning shows.

But yes KAB is a great actor and has found her place as Rory but will move on to other parts if she wants, she has lots of time.

I don't think it makes a difference on what network you work. Didn't the CW or the WB give Steven Collins something like $10,000,000 for a season of 7th Heaven? I think it has to do with how big a star you are and how big your show is, ratings-wise. I know the stars of Friends were making a million dollars an episode, each, during the last couple of seasons. I highly doubt the stars of shows like Heroes, or even the Grey's Anatomy stars, make a lot of money comparatively speaking. They may do better in future seasons, but not right now.

I don't begrudge anyone for making as much money as the market will bear. Good for them. I am just anxious to know if there will be another season or not.

Exactly. She is an actress on Gilmore Girls, playing Rory Gilmore, one of the title characters and she's perfect in that role because she helped to create it. There is no one else who could be Rory, no matter how much more talented they are. Alexis is not in negotiations to play Scarlett O'Hara, Portia, Jo March, National Velvet, Clarice, or the girl from Legally Blonde. She's Rory. She is Rory. If they don't have her, they don't have Rory. So any soured tech, or art direction employee, or costumer, or script girl on the set who thinks little of her should think about that.

I am confident that all of the GG actors will find work after the series ends....after all, someone keeps hiring William Shatner, right?

If he can find work, surely talented people can!

When did tv screenwriters become an oppressed class? Last time I checked they ran the tv industry and have most of the power.

I should be so downtrodden and this comes from a bred in the bone lefty. (We're not talking about the movie industry here. In the TV industry, the writer rules.)

Sorry if I offended Craig. I just find that guy's longevity amazing. I have seen Boston Legal a few times and he is funny.

That's the ting Laura; they run the TV industry. Yet, at the same time, networks are hiring non-union writers to write for reality shows. Which really chafes the hide of the WGA. They are also sick and tired of the writer being left out of the process of FILMMAKING. Everyone else gets a say but the writer. Something they have grown tired of...the beats go on. If you want to look for more. Find the Sunday Morning Shootout homepage, and look for their interview with the WGA president. It's pretty informative in relation to this sort of thing.

Now onto "stupid and a bad actress" Kimberly Alexis Bledel, who should flip the execs the bird, and walk the **** off. However, there is, a big but attached to there not being another season. We all know that Amy and Dan set this up for a year eight. It's been set-up like this for a reason. A reason Helen Pai most likely has in her bible, that the rest of the writers know about. If the show ends this year. Kim and Lauren will have to spend a lot more years dealing with fans saying; "hey, I wish you guys had one more year of Gilmore Girls." Especially, if, season eight is spun by the network as not happening because of Kim and Lauren. Aggravated fans or disappointed fans running into you all the time is just not cool.

So, outside of peer pressure, it's time everyone on this show gets paid. Again, it makes more money on DVD than almost every Warners show. If you put it in comparison to production cost and ancillary returns compared to other more expensive shows on DVD. This show has made a mint for this network. A ****ing mint. Which Warners never spent on the show according to Amy and Dan. It's time they pay to end this show right, and to guarantee everyone buys the season eight DVDs. If they can pay 1000000 dollars to an actour on a show that does not syndicate overseas nor will ever come close to making GG like money. They can pay EVERYONE on this show. It's cost vs reward. Where the rewards are more money from this show, that will be nothing but profit. It's in Warners hands, and may they actually spend on this little show that can. Instead of being the penny-pinching jerk-offs that they have been over the last six and almost 3/4 seasons.
