One poster on a different board thought he was signed for season 8, which never made sense to me. The information you quote refers to an option. Didn't someone, I think Fraz, mention seeing DS's contract in October '05?

Too bad no one saw this one but as far as I know, options usually have expiry dates. Wouldn't really make sense, otherwise.

LG mentioned in one of her BLISS tour interviews in January that no one had started talking to them yet. Sounds late to me, but there's so many players. While the WB would pay the actors, the CW pays the WB for the show.....

I would like for her to get better storylines as well, but she does have stuff coming up too. She's going to be interviewing for jobs in, it looks like 16 & 18. So that's more future related stuff that's not just about being Logan's cheerleader. In fact it seems like maybe he's the one cheering her on in 18 while she's off trying to land her first job.

I think there was a world of potential for both of them this season. But the writers chose to focus on L/L/C, and April, while putting Rory and everything that relates to her life on the backburner. I'm excited to see they're finally seeming to shift some focus to her, having some actual story arcs that might be heading somewhere, as it should have been all along. And dealing with her future seems to be the theme, so I think the professional & personal go hand in hand.

I work for NBC in Orlando and we share the building with the CW affiliate, I really hope I get hold of a press release soon that will just let me know either way!! Sheesh. All this talk is depressing.

Thanks. I really thought Scott was already signed.

The part about DS's contract I didn't understand.

Then it seems she has a hissy because he wants to go blow off steam with his buddies, she takes off in a huff to go on a road trip with her mom, and he has to follow her to apologize -- and they go right back to the schmoop. All of which is in keeping with the rest of the fluff Rory's had this season.

I like Rory, and I wish they'd give her better storylines.
You don't think the Huntzberger disapproval is anything meaty for Rory? It's good family drama. It would include the Gilmores. There would be plenty of ways that it would effect her other than her being supportive. I'm not quite sure what you want for her character.

And if there is another season, Luke will be sent to NM (because they were too late, or left penniless to negotiate with SP, who moved on to a new pilot by then) and Logan will be sent again to London by Mitchum (because MC committed to another pilot by the time they wanted to negotiate with him, as well). I can, however, see DS available, re - signing sneaking his way back into SH and Lorelai's life.
Or we have "Gilmore Girls Only"!!!

Sorry, I don't want to hurt anybody, but I feel like being manipulated. Suddenly we have "the delivery" of news about internal issues of WB or CW from a new fan with 40 posts, quoted words of not known unidentified My Friend (MF) who talks to execs about contracts, money, almost an interview with SP on another forum..... Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't trust. I'm a doubting Thomas!
Sorry!

Not one iota of this contract stuff is looking good for us.

Hopefully TPTB will give Rory better stuff to work with, but through 7.17 at least, there's a hefty dose of schmaltz it seems. I am looking forward to the road trip, and Rory spending quality time with Lorelai and Emily, because that's been sorely lacking this year. I think some of AB's best work is playing opposite LG and KB.

Last Tuesday ratings...... (from Hollywood Reporter)

Quote:
Meanwhile, between 8 and 9 p.m., only "NCIS" (15.7 million, 3.6/9) stood out against "Dateline: NBC" (6.4 million, 2.4/6), The CW's "Gilmore GIrls" (4.3 million, 1.9/6) and a repeat "America's Funniest Home Videos."

Mag13, Sassypaws is a regular poster @ TWoP. She had lunch last week with Scott Patterson. You can read about it in the WB tours thread there. Does that mean everything she says in gospel? No. But she's not some random person that just dropped by to mess with us.

Mag, the poster who kindly shared her information has been posting on GG threads at TelevisionWithoutPity for a long time. FF has rules against linking to other boards, and I saw FFers ask if they could bring some of her reports (especially her lunch with SP) over here. Then, the last few days, she's been nice enough to come and share directly.

You're right that she's posted here very occasionally in the past. And obviously you should feel free as always to make your own assessment of any new information and source. But it might help to know she's not such a "newbie" to the fandom as the post count implies.

I don't know if I doubt Sassys reports, maybe it's a case of not wanting to believe that they are looking like they are doing to LG and AB what they did to ASP last year. Along with the fact it's all up in the air right now and we don't want our hopes of season 8 crushed at the last minute, maybe someone should ask Ausiello if he has heard anything LOL

I appreciate ANY news we get I just wish it sounded better that what we have heard.

hey 25001! [throws himself a pity party 'cause I'm such a CIP]

My point is, there's a little drama coming up, then it seems they fall back to what they've done all year with Rory. I'd like something more than Rory wants/expects romantic dinner alone, gets petulant & jealous over bombshell co-worker, and whines till Logan cajoles her, kissy-kissy, end of story. Or Rory ticks Logan off, argument, pouting, make-up, kissy-kissy, end of story. Or Rory develops instant crush on nerdy TA, stammers, blushes profusely, daydreams & Googles, plays true confessions, kissy-kissy, end of story. And coming up, Rory gets in a snit over Logan going to Vegas, takes off in a huff, Logan follows to make-up, kissy-kissy, end of story. There's hardly been anything ongoing, just these these little one-shot mini-dramas that I'm not finding interesting, and Paris's dry erase boards that Rory has little tolerance for.

That takes her up to 7.18, with only 4 episodes left for something really interesting to happen with her. I just hope it does, although, as with Luke & Lorelai at this point, it hardly seems like enough.
