| We have hardly seen Luke and April in a situation where a decision of whether she should or shouldn't do something has come up - other than the party. I think they enjoyed a couple of hours - if even that long - together in the mall and he took her home....hardly the stuff of hideous parenting. We have seen him getting her off to school, giving her her lunch to take to school, picking her up after swim practice, helping with her homework, having Lane stay with her when he went out. So, what now? There is a need to show Luke is a weak parent? | |||

He tells her no for good reasons. Why is that a problem? I've never met any parents that told they're children no for the fun of it. You say no to your kids for reasons and Luke had good reasons. I don't see where the unrealistic facter comes in. To me what is strange is seeing Luke and Lorelai two character who have difficulty showing affection (exept for Lorelai when it is Rory) that suddlendly can express them with no apparent disconfort. We have Luke calling April sweety and Lorelai saying I love you and hugging and kissing Chris all the time. I am a Java Junkie who has no problem with BB, but I still find that part of the Luke and the Lorelai character strange. When did they learn to do that? __________________ Java Junkie- Mulder&Sculy-Booth&Brennan- Luke/Lorelai, Mr. Sheffield/Fran- Niles/C.C.-Harry/Ginny-Ron/Hermione- Anne/Gilbert- Mr. Darcy/Elisabeth-Will/Lyra...I'm a shipper ![]() | |||

| Its really not so strange for a parent, especially one comfortable being a parent, to display emotions. I am not a touchy, feely, kissy person - I am almost Luke in drag, scary picture I know - the only person I am truly comfortable hugging and kissing is my daughter and grand-daughter. Doesn't mean I don't love my husband just means I'm not really good with all that emotional stuff in public or 24/7. Luke has found his comfort zone with April, if he had continued to be standoffish I would have thought it was a wee bit weird and out of character as he does hug...Mia, Rory, Liz, Lane etc etc. Lorelai with Chris, while I found the "I love you." over and over to be over the top her being effectionate with her husband should be normal especially for newlyweds. Lorelai's a tactile person, she touches, she grabs, she is all over the board with her expressions. Now the "I love you" well that just seemed like a sub for the whole thing ASP said she didn't want to do..."You're pretty." - "No. you're pretty." - No, no YOU'RE Pretty." I gotta say both their actions seem normal to me. And I also got to say I am sick and tired of basketball taking this show off on Tuesday. Then they tease you and say "Oh we'll rerun it on Saturday." But do they? Noooooo...they put it on on Sunday at 3:00 in the afternoon when Crazy Baby was running like a freaking nutcase through the house and I couldn't watch it! Is there not like twenty thousand cable sports channels that they could show this on? Once again - basketball - no Gilmore Girls in Baltimore. Sucks to be us. Thank the god of TV that I have this forum to fall back on. __________________ "Your lie. Tell it as big as you want." Last edited by boru : 02-13-2007 at 04:45 PM. | |||
