Thanks for that, IMO she is not someone how could easily be replace for the fans of the show, Mia may have only been on the screen one but there is such a history behind the character. Remember the fuss people made when Sherilyn Fenn was re used as Anna.

So I really hope Elizabeth Franz can find the time to fly out to LA and do the part.

off to email Ausiello...

Thanks Nadine

As for Elizabeth Franz, I believe it's been said that Kelly Bishop lives in like, New Jersey, with her husband. And that doesn't stop her from coming to L.A. once (sometimes more, sometimes less) a week to do a few scenes.
Hopefully Elizabeth Franz will be able to spare a day or two for GG. Just to keep up with continuity.

As much as I would love to see LL married with a baby or two, I don't think this would work without Rory being there.
And as Lauren said, unless AB returns as well, no GG, that's understandable.
It just wouldn't be the same.
E/R would still have some contact with Lorelai, more so if there's a new grandchild involved, because Emily and Lorelai both know that they made mistakes in the past and neither Emily nor Lorelai would want that another grandchild has to grow up without having E/R around. And as Luke is a family man he would make sure that their child had at least one set of grandparents around, even if it means having E/R in his life too.
But completely without Rory, there's no way that this would work out.

Thanks for the thread, the title, the sides, the spoilers, description etc etc ...

Most exited about the trip and Logan in Stars Hollow. I don't see this as having to seek approval from the townies. But simply Logan spending a weekend,
or whatever days at the place Rory grew up in. I like the idea!

About the 8th season depending on KAB or that seems to be the picture that is painted here a lot. Of course I don't know if that is truely the case. But say it is. I do hope that she decides whatever she decides based on what she wants. I in no way feel she is responsible for the other people working there. 7 years is a long time and if she wants to move on, she should. But would I highly highly prefer a season 8 with both Girls in all eps? Definitely!

At this point, I don't see it. As of last season she was still trying to prevent them from knowing much about her life. That's a fact. While I hope it will improve, I don't expect miracles. And I don't expect her to necessairly include them in her life openly in the future. Not as things currently stand. Perhaps they will be different after the scotch & roadtrip, but we'll have wait and see.

Like you said, as Lorelai herself has said, Rory has a very different relationship with Emily & Richard. It's not full of decades of hurt & disappointment on both sides.
Yep, same here. I also think a lot will depend on the scotch & roadtrip, since until now Lorelai has been extremely hesitant ... but I agree Lorelai telling Emily about her marriage falling apart and the reaction following from that message by Emily might help change things around a little. Lorelai is according to the ep descriptions either working up the courage, reluctant to tell E&R about her marital problems, or she finally decides to tell her parents ... the fact there pretty soon is a road trip tells me this can't go too bad after all. The wonders of Scotch

I agree, there is no point in putting the blame with either S&P, or with well, Stretch Pants There has been this dynamic going on for years that caused the relationship between these 3 to be the way it is. Hard to pinpoint anyway where it exactly went wrong. And the finding the blame with one or the other is pointless to me and is exactly what these 3 should stop doing. It doesn't matter how this happened, what caused this, nope, all that matters is how do they make things better. And I guess that is similar to letting go off the BS and letting the love win ...

Actually, it is rather nice of him; and since both Rory and Lorelai are likely observing this, I think it might be good for them to know that Logan can be good with kids, considering that for all we know, R/L might be engaged, or rather close to it, by the time Logan and Lorelai initiate their bonding session in this ep.

Shan said I could post what she said here so we can make more sense of the spoilers for 16 and 17. Some of these might have been in some of the tour reports that she and I missed seeing, and I'm sorry if any of this was already clarified.

-In ep. 16, in the diner, Zach asks Luke to dinner, and later on there’s a scene in the diner with Zach asking Luke a lot of “questions.”

-In ep. 16, when Lorelai’s preparing for the shower at the CS, Sooie’s there, but not being helpful because she’s looking at pictures in an album. There’s a photo of Lane and Rory when they were about 8 listed as a prop. Lane’s dressed as a dragon, Rory as Charlotte Bronte. It would make sense for the picture of Lane/Rory to be part of what Sookie’s looking at. Paul Anka’s also in the CS.

-There is a scene of Rory in NYC in ep. 16. (Which probably could have been inferred because of the interview.)

-In ep. 16, a lot of people wheel Lane to Patty’s, including, but not limited to, Lorelai, Zach, Mrs. Kim, and Rory. The baby shower is a lot of the second part of the episode.

-Towards the end of ep. 16, Zach is in the diner and he gets a call about Lane going into labor.

-In ep. 17, Lane and Zach, together, ask Luke to be the godfather. The three of them are in Lane’s apartment when they ask.

-The girls reminisce about Younger Rory and Lorelai, and Mia and Leonard (like the name in the sides list for ep. 17), not ‘Howard.’

She also gave me the links to a few pictures at her PB:
Stars Hollow Baby
Stars Hollow Baby 2
Crib at Lane's
Patty's Decorated
Thanks of all the info!

1. Rory as Charlotte Bronte? Heh. Maybe there is a place in this show for romantics, after all.

2. Sounds logical to me; since Rory doesn't appear to be at Yale in this ep, I would imagine any R/L scenes will probably occur in NYC.

3. So the road trip is about reminiscing about Younger Rory? So why are the girls saying "farewell" to Rory's childhood in this ep, and not closer to graduation? And what spurs the road trip idea in the first place? (it has Lorelai written all over it, of course.) And further, why, after two years, do Logan and Lorelai suddenly get the urge to bond and "get to know each other" in 7.18?

Conductor...I do believe you have established a strong case for something. Craig, search out with your hidden Sophie feelings, and you will know it to be true, To paraphrase a man that I still got much love for...this reference could get me all misty; "SOPHIES WIN! SOPHIES WIN! SOOOOOPHIES WIN!" Again, it's not a gloating thing, but more of a "Holy ****!" sort of thing. It's like the Cubs winning a World Series without the Cubs making it to a World Series...*everything crossed with salt and charms on top.*

Anyone else think when Chris told Luke to leave that Luke might have saw a little of what he did to Lorelai last year? How he was acting and not knowing he was hurting Lorelai?

(Hi everybody!)

Thanks for the new thread.

I was just thinking about what Dawn Ostroff said - about the second half of the season is going to be a lot "better" or "stronger" and from the looks of it, it sure is going to be.

I am so looking forward to the scotch scene between L/E and Lorelai.

Btw, didn't DO also say that if this is the last season it would be known in time so the producers could have time to wrap it up?
Does anybody know which episode they are writing right now?

And about season 8, I would love for GG to get a new season but I agree with you, blaab.
7 years is a long time and if AB wants to move on and do new things, that's understandable.

Not only Christopher asking him to leave, but also Emily's treatment and Rory not all excited with his presence, IMO, could have been writen to make Luke feels how painful is to see someone you love going through a difficult moment and not be able to be there all the time with the beloved person. Luke wanted to help, but he wasn't needed: that hurts.

That could give him a better understanding of what Lorelai felt during the second half of season 6, when he shut her out of his and April's lives. And that could help to repair their broken relationship.

Some wishful guesses: Rory and Logan are engaged to get married soon
