I thought you never liked them at all...

I think they lost their friendship cause ASP wanted them to lose it. I saw the friendship in the first half of season 6...but apparently i was dumb

Indeed. I know you like April, and I'll admit to actually like most of the father/daughter stuff between the kid and Luke this season; but I detest the whole introduction of the April/LLD/turtle storyline last year and its development throughout the second half of season six.

Oh I detested it too. I also called the "its gonna be all about lorelai" spin that we got...with luke's crisis and issues being pushed to the side. Its DR's handling of the April stuff that won me over. I like april because we got to know who she was...outside of bieng a plot device. Ironically they took character (Chris) and turned him into a plot device this season.

Nope. I loved them before. I was totally rooting for them in R&R. But I started to see them losing their friendship in S5. They lost the great things that were inherently "them." So I got invested in Rory and Logan and just kept losing interest throughout their relationship. By the time S6 ended I just didn't care anymore, besides being really annoyed at both of them for actions that I didn't see as OOC at all. At this point I really don't care who Lorelai ends up with (although preferably alone if this is the last season). I just want to like her again.

I agree some of it was ASP wanting them to lose thier connection and the use of April as a plot device. But, as I said, I think they lost their friendship practically the same moment they started their relationship.

Wow the things you learn. I didn't watch the early years until after season 5. Actually I watched season 1 and 3 concurrently with season 5. So, I didn't have the usual backstory. I immediately fell in love with their relationship but I admit I was taken aback by their breakup in season 5. But, then they seemed to make two steps forward and two steps back but by early season 6 they seemed to have really moved beyond it.

Thanks Ciaobella. If this is a spoiler then that's great because that's what I think SHOULD happen anyway. If it's just your interpretation (as it is my own), then I hope our interpretations (and many others) are correct. L/L shouldn't jump into a relationship right after Lorelai breaks it off with Chris. Not IMO anyway...besides, L/L need to reestablish their friendship, which was always a crucial element to the show. If anything, if Lorelai ended the show single and alone (which I don't wish on her at all), I think it would always have been necessary for her to continue to have that close friendship with Luke, as well as the comfort and familiarity of the diner and her traditions there.

Lorelai without Luke in her life at all, just doesn't work. In the context of the show, it's been a staple. There's something SO wrong about Lorelai not being in the diner for almost a year. It's unfamiliar to me. Just as unfamiliar as it was last year when Lorelai and Rory stopped talking, and when Lorelai became a sadfaced doormat.

Well I technically didn't say if the more than one day involves the return leg too. It could very well be one day there, one day back kind of thing. Take it however you want to take it but there is a final destination in place (and the latter is confirmed).

I think it would be a nice idea to start speccing what this final destination place is.

I would doubt that it's in Stars Hollow or Hartford, and I doubt it would be in New Haven (Yale). So where is this destination that Lorelai and Rory and Emily embark to?

Will it be New York? A lake? Australia (yes, I know that's impossible). Walt Disney World? Where?

I think that they are tired of the cold weather and would want to go someplace further south than Connecticut, but not as far as Florida.
