To me getting into a relationship with Luke, whether their having sex or not, has to be preceded by Lorelai being happy with who she is on her own.
But has Lorelai ever really been alone, If she didn't have Rory she had a man and IMO the number 1 reason she hooked up with Digger was 'cause Rory was off at Yale and Luke was with Nicole.

Yes she needs to feel good about herself but why can't that also include being with the man she loves? Some time alone is good but IMO the only reason DSR broke up C&L was to get back with Luke, that is his game plan and where we are heading, it's just a matter of time.

Time alone is very much needed for Lorelai -- it's just a different ballgame for the JJs. For me, the idea of Luke and Lorelai being together for only three more episode in the entire series makes me terribly sad. So, if there's a way for DR to show Lorelai is back on her feet and has found herself once again in as little "episode" time as possible, I'm all for it.

Thanks for all those.

A BABY SHOWER, A JOB INTERVIEW AND A BOAT TRIP how is that "action-packed" ???

Unless Luke uses his boat to get Lane to hospital across a flooded SH?

they do love to twist things in the descriptions don't they LOL

Thanks, Mag!

Action packed, huh? I wonder what exactly that means... I'll bet it's simply referring to new developments such as Rory's NYTimes job and Lane giving birth... I'd like there to be more, especially since that's the week of my birthday, but at this point, I'm through with expecting too much. Oh well, Mrs. Kim will be good for some laughs!! Gotta love that woman.

I don't need to see them together asap. I would however like to see some sort of interaction. I hate this feeling that they're gonna keep lorelai on her own and bam she's with luke again. Isn't there every any middleground on this show? Can't she be alone yet have some interaction with luke? I miss the diner scenes. The diner seems different without lorelai in it.

Oh IA GEORGE. I want Rory to spread her wings and fly away from her mom, away from SH; I always assumed that is how the show would end. I'd rather her fly off dressed as Charlotte Bronte though, rather than a business tycoon. But that's just me.

Yes, she can genki. She won't be in a "romantic" relationship with Luke right away, but the two of them will rebuild their friendship pretty quickly. We saw that they are drawn to each other and connected even when they were apart - Lorelai showing up at the hospital to see April, those words she wrote in the character reference, Luke running to the hosptital to support Lorelai and bring food to her family. So the friendship is already there; it will just be inevitable when they realize the love is still there also.

Didn't we have a spoiler about a stunt man being used or something?

Amen. And in Run Away, Little Boy, as someone else mentioned, she runs down a list of townies who will always be in her life, including Luke. She doesn't mention Emily or Richard. I think that was telling. (I could be wrong here, have a massive migraine but can't stay away from the discussion lol).
Are we talking about Rory here? If so, we'll chalk it up your headache because I can't believe that anyone would suggest that Rory feels less for Emily and Richard than she does the townies. That she doesn't expect them to always be in her life.

The girl who said this:

Quote:
Richard and Emily Gilmore are kind, decent, unfailingly generous people. They are my twin pillars without whom I could not stand. I am proud to be their grandchild.
could never feel like that.

Quote:
And it looks like this road trip will take them down memory lane and remind them both how important SH was and always will be to them. How sweet it will be remininscing about Mia and Rory and Lane as little girls. They are remembering the time they moved to SH and I can't imagine it being anything but good memories. I wonder if we are going to see flashbacks of a younger Luke and Lorelai when they first met? And I love the idea of little Rory dressed up as Charlotte Bronte for Halloween. I miss that Rory.
We never knew that Rory. She was ready to chuck it all for a guy in the first episode in which we met her. I suspect most eight year olds have a different set of priorities and interests from sixteen years olds and different again from twenty-two year olds.

*****

Back to the topic I was talking about earlier regarding the townies involvement in Lorelai's life and their comparatively less judgemental attitude towards her. I don't think I explained myself clearly.

None of the townies raised the rebellious Lorelai. They didn't lay awake nights wondering if she was having underage sex, taking drugs or drinking. They didn't have to deal with her slipping out of the house at all hours. Raising Lorelai was a handful. It's easy to be accepting of someone who didn't put you through these personal traumas and possibly find it all charming. By the time the townies met Lorelai and Rory, all of this was water under the bridge and presumably Lorelai had matured. They met her as a young, single, working mother with a small child. They didn't have the aborted, stunted, pained relationship with her that Emily and Richard did.

That's why I find the comparison between Mia and Emily -- with Mia coming up favorably -- unfair. Mia didn't raise Lorelai, and who's to say she would have dealt with Lorelai's rebellious years (which have never seemed to end) all that much better. Perhaps she would've, perhaps not. But one thing is for sure, it would've mattered a hell of a lot more to her if Lorelai were her daughter than it did with Lorelai only being an employee. The stakes were never as high for her as they were for E&R. Nor did Lorelai treat Mia or the townies in the way she treated her parents.

I was talking about Lorelai, Sandlynn. In the end of RA, LB, after Sookie told Lorelai that Luke has always had a thing for her, Lorelai makes amends with Luke by telling him she only has a few people she can count on, people that are always in her life and always will be. She lists Sookie, Rory and .....Luke.

She didn't mention her parents. Blood may be thicker than water but it also can harden.

I agree and yes the diner scenes with Lorelai is one of the things I miss the most, apart from Partings (which I don't count) the last time Lorelai was in the diner and happy was SCPP 6.20, 16 eps ago!!!

Global 7:14 Promo – aired Sunday, February 11, 2007

Promoguy: On the next Gilmore Girls ….

Scene: Both Lorelai and Christopher are standing (I guess in the living room). Close up of Christopher who is wearing the same burgundy long-sleeve sweater he had on at the hospital. There is a green plant behind him

Christopher: [with a raised and angry voice to Lorelai] I see the way you look at him

Lorelai: [close up of Lorelai standing in front of the stairs in the living room that intersects the pathway to the kitchen. She’s wearing a black v-neck, long sleeve dress with a floral pattern around the neck.] I chose you! I married YOU!

Scene: Camera fades to a close up of Christopher sitting on the couch as he turns his head away from Lorealai. We only see part of the back of her head in the frame (same scene as in the CW promo)

Promoguy: Lorelai is faced with a tough question

Scene: Lorelai standing alone in the living room by the stairs. Same scene as above where she is wearing the black dress with the floral pattern around the neck.

Sookie: [Close up of Sookie standing in the kitchen of the DFI] If there was no Luke, would it be Christopher? …

Scene: Lorelai standing in front of Sookie as she asks her the questions. She has a kind of half smile on her face as she goes to answer Sookie. Lorelai is wearing the black dress we saw her in when she’s sitting on the couch with Christopher in the CW Promo

Sookie: … and would he be the one? [close up of Sookie’s face]

Promoguy: A new episode of Gilmore Girls,

Scene: Luke standing in the diner waving (as seen in the CW promo)

Promoguy: Tuesdays at 10, 9 central on Global

Scene: Fades to Lorelai looking through the window and waving back at Luke (as seen in the CW promo)

Video to come later for upload

When did she say that? isn't that from the "old" Lorelai? who could trust that comment now? I couldn't...

I was wondering... Luke and April having a boat trip...and then? She will move to New Mexico, and he will wait until her next vacation?... Anna must hate Lorelai if her letter helped Luke. How Do you think that they could fix that?

I could bet that for Lorelai BLOOD is first.

ETA: Thanks 2ggObsessed.
