But calling Luke a "servant" is like calling Lorelai a "maid" -- it is a reference to a profession, not an opinion of character. He's never been a servant no matter how hard someone tries to spin being a diner owner. If people find him gruff or too grumpy, not nice, unattractive - that's an opinion. It is a different thing altogether.

And really what is so wrong with being a servant? Not that I think Luke is. I guess that I don't find owning your own business as some low position. It's not as though it's a dirty place that sells terrible food. It's clean and the food is good, which makes him a successful business owner not a servant.

If ASP hadn´t been such a big DS fan, we wouldn´t have this discussion in the first place.....I just hate Chrisss, from S1 on and that hasn´t changed. His SL died after S2, bringing him back was stupid and senseless....and FINALLY DR has the courage to end this farce......just a shame it took so long....

And I´m not a big R/L fan, but I enjoy their scenes much more then this forced LC ones....seeing Lorelai so OOC just hurts......

And you can call Luke a servant or whatever....I really don´t care....cause in the end, he´s the one Lorelai ends up with.

And while I can't answer for others, I can answer for myself - I loved MR's column but it wasn't because I agreed with his opinio about Logan/Rory. I can't explain perfectly WHY I liked his column but it wasn't because of his perception of Logan...

It was something about HOW he expressed himself. That snark.

Again, why the need for all the tit for tat stuff? It confuses me the same way all the debates go on that compare Lorelai/Luke to Rory/Logan - which is something else I've never understood. As though if you like one couple, you are expected to dislike the other couple when all of them are unconnected.

So, because some people have called other characters unseemly names, it is fine to just make stuff up - why is that? Is it supposed to be a way of getting even or something? Whatever. It is a style of "debate" I just don't understand.

Nope. not everyone. Not even all the JJs. I love Logan and always will. And while I've found moments of moments of perhaps inadvertent snobbery, they have never been enough to override the rest of his amazing personality.

But, truth be told, if someone can call Luke a servant, someone can surely call Logan a rich snob. It's the same premise. And it's rather funny, because neither is true.
