That's why IMO there is a plan B and it could include a Rorylite season with say 13 eps but still sharing top billing in the credits.
A lot of Rory and Lorelai scenes involve phone calls to each other....it is easy to film those in a couple of days and spread them out throughout the season......(Wishful thinking.....)

IMdB listed Treisa Gary as Francette, Alex Ball as Waiter and Kristof Konrad as Stefan. What for do they need a Polish actor? Konrad is born in Poland (1962)! And my second question - Charles Huenergardt listed as a remote head technician (special effects!) for this episode?

Thanks and interesting.

special effects - some weird dream Lorelai has when drunk?

Well, as Lorelai thinks she's a kajak (or maybe Emily has this hallu?), there'll probably be a nice morphing scene

Sam Phillips sang in "Partings" the line The places I go are never there..... Lorelai was on her way to Chris.....

Another question: Will we see Lorelai's birthday this year? LG is turning 40!

I would think that with the whole cast wanting to do an 8th season it would be hard for her to say no because it would make her look bad.
Look bad to who? This is her life and she is only responsible for her life right now. As someone up post said, those affected will be able to move on to another job too. Lauren can always change her mind and do the series anyway if AB decides not too. I think the plan B scenerio will probably work best, if the network decides on an 8th season.

If enough money is offered and she has time to pursue other things, then plan B it will be.

I can't believe I didn't think that the title might be related to Lorelai and Emily's drunkeness. Now I'm imagining some convoluted metaphor about boats and how Lorelai doesn't need to be a canoe (usually paddled by two people) but she can be a kayak and steer herself.

Please don't remind me!

as for the Kayak metaphor, she's been on this journey but now is she at a peaceful lake or about to go over some rapids?

and will it be a kayak for one or two?

None of these people got in this business because they were looking for job security. They got in it because of passion. To say someone that maybe has lost her passion for something should stay because other people will lose their job security, that's a tenuious reason. No one has the right to a job. Certainly not in that business. They all know that, and have made the decision that doing what they do is more important than job security. Most people I've known in it are grateful for a semblance of job security when they've had it, but it's not something they expect or take for granted.

A S8 w/o Rory or Rory lite sounds like a disaster to me.

Considering the rest of the title is a reference to female empowerment, I would imagine that it's a single kayak. Or if it is tandem, that Rory or Emily are in the kayak with Lorelai.

LG is, but Lorelai is "younger", she was born in 1968 (Due to "Happy Birthday Baby" (2003) were she turned 35 and the airdate it's April 22nd)

I like the kajak/metapher theory, could work.

To me too.

The whole thing just sounds and feels so wrong.
Either it's a season with both "girls" or it's nothing.
At least that's the way I feel about it.

So what was the point of Lorelai proposing, wanting to have another kid, ready to move on with the next stage of her life and the "whole package" she's been after since season 2-3?

IMO she still wants the whole package but now she may re evaluate what that is and how long it will take. I still hope after a break she will get what she wants and that includes Luke.

BTW I never said anyone deserves a job or whatever, I just said it's a lot to put on KAB to know it's kinda up to her what all these people will be doing for the next year, I just hope the story we have been told has been exaggerated and it's not as cut and dry as it seems. They could have already worked things out and are just waiting for the right time to break the news. I still think if this is the last season we will know sooner rather than later.

This is the episode after her marriage ends. Is it so unthinkable that maybe she wants to be by herself for a while? That she should really take a step back and see what got her into this mess in the first place. I wasn't suggesting that she have a "solo kayak" forever. I was talking about in the context of episode fifteen. The title of which is a blatant reference to female empowerment.

I think it's about letting go of what she's been chasing for so long. Her engagement with Luke ended in disaster. She never should have married Chris. I think she's finally letting go of really wanting the *package* and letting her inner woman (single girl) roar. Why the title is what it is.

How this can manage to be not about Luke. I think she's letting go of all of it. And I think, like with many things, when you let go of something, many times that's when you find exactly what you've been searching for so hard to begin with. But in letting go of the dream, she's finally going to learn to be happy with herself. So, YAY!
