If this is the last season I would be a little sad because it would be a shame, as you say elduccia, for L/L.

But I would like an 8th season. I'm not ready to say goodbye yet.

I'm still seeing mixed messages or lack of dramatic focus or something lacking in LG's acting and what the show is trying to portray. DS seems to know he's portraying a whiney jerk, SP seems to know he's portraying a guy who lost the love of his life but is carrying on with his own life and trying to still be her friend, but I don't get what LG is doing right now at all. She's portraying Lorelai as so so passive with Chris. She yelled more at Rory back when Rory was still young and really cute, she's certainly yelled more at Luke and E&R. But she's just letting Chris behave like a 2 year old and then pleading and pacifying. And letting him walk out whenever he feels like it. And if this is a road to the end of L/C and possible restart of L/L, it's pretty wishy washy and flat. "You're the one I want to want." ????? Does that mean she gave up on Luke so quickly because she really wanted Chris, but when that doesn't work out will go back to Luke for lack of anything better to do? Or does it mean she really loved and wanted Luke but feels he's through with her absolutely so she gave her all to making it work with Chris? I really feel that none of this will be really satisfying until Lorelai says out loud, I still love Luke and still want him. All this, Chris is second choice, no Luke is second choice, is Chris the rebound, was Luke because she thought Chris would never be ready, really getting old and tiresome. As much as I can't stand the Chris character and feel that Lorelai ending up with him would be a travesty, her muddling around indefinately, or never making a for sure, 100%,all the way in choice, for either, would be worse. I agree a woman doesn't necissarily need a man, but with the whole sl here from season 1 being what it has been, to end this with drama and punch and satisfaction, I think Lorelai needs to make a choice and be really happy with it. (And if she has any brains it will be Luke)

Captain Hawkeye I was talking about since the hiatus, but yes I agree they are not as good as they were on the WB and 5.13 drew the largest numbers ever right.

elduccia IMO dignity went from GG last season when Amy screwed us!

Did anyone see this?
(The poll in the bottom corner.) I didn't remember seeing it mentioned.

You know, the more I think about it the more I think it was very spot on for Emily to be so disdainful of Luke. Maybe she could have been kinder, but from her POV I'm not sure there was a reason.

He was (a) as I've said previously, weirdly inserting himself in a family situation where he didn't belong. Yes, Chris should have been there, but that doesn't make it Luke's place to be there. But (b) the last contact Emily had with him was as the man that broke her daughter's heart because he pushed her out of his life.

I actually think it will be all that much harder for Luke to gain Emily's acceptance the second time. She, and Richard, had already gone through the process of accepting that he was Lorelai's choice, not theirs, and they would deal with it because he made Lorelai happy. But instead from her POV he betrayed that acceptance by his actions with April and toward Lorelai and by breaking Lorelai's heart. She doesn't know all the messy details. She just knows that. Which makes me really realize why she reacted the way she did.

Well I am, but every one is entitled to feel differently about an 8th season.
I'm not saying I would't watch. I just don't want to see the show slowly sinking.

And it seems like yesterday that you started posting and you already have a personal avatar, with one of the sweetest scenes ever on it!

Craig, I understand. Here is another factor to consider:

Quote:
Analysts pointed out that several shows last week got a boost as a result of college-age viewers being included in the Nielsen survey for the first time. As Washington Post TV writer Lisa De Moraes observed, "Previously, they got in on the Nielsen action only when they went home to do laundry at holidays." ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and What About Brian; NBC's Scrubs and The Office; Fox's Til Death; and CW's Gilmore Girls all saw huge leaps of 50 percent or more in their ratings for 18-49-year-olds. Scrubs, in fact, saw its ratings in that demo double.

I know it wouldn't leave the writers enough time to wrap up things gracefully for Luke and Lorelai and that's a shame.
No, it's ASP's fault! Although DR could write another story also.
I don't think, it's about dignity... GG wasn't the first league TV show earlier, and isn't it now. It is about good writing, and I fear, if the showrunner doesn't know, will it be season or series finale, it doesn't make the decision process easier!

I saw that and anything they can do to get the real numbers is fine by me and if that leads to higher numbers then good. higher numbers mean a better shot at S8 and DSR time to fix this mess, I don't want a JAG type ending to the show.

That scene really is sweet. I love L/L in that episode.

I'm still hoping Emily does find out the details of what happened and Lorelai's actions in Partings, yes it will be messy and upsetting but it might be needed for them to move on and accept Luke again.

BTW I didn't think Emily was tipping Luke with the car, I just think she was offering gas money which is understandable IMO.

notoutforawalk - nice poll, it doesn't have the numbers how have voted but only 1/3 think GG should go with a Rorylite S8.

Has someone seen it?
Sebastian Bach's side (February, 7th):

Greetings from Hollywood California ! I am busy here doing 2 things: 1. Filming a new episode of the Gilmore girls for the CW Newtork! & 2. Starting the mixing process on the 'Angel Down' CD! Oh yeah, getting a sunburn is high on the priority list as well! Mixing is going great! I cannot wait for you all to crank this music!!! Also appearing on this episode of the Gilmore girls is Sally Struthers & I was lucky enough to go over to her house for drinks & to hang out poolside! There is another special guest on this episode, from the rock world, that will blow you away when you find out who it is. Check out this video I took of Sally Struthers singing the theme to her show 'All In The Family' !
Are they filming 7.17 now?

Well, it is hard to have the girl's' when one isn't on screen.

(And on shallow note, I noticed yet again how bouncy and shiny AB's hair is. It makes me happy. )

She is so beautiful this year. I've always thought she was attractive, but this season I've really noticed her beauty. AB certainly has a presence on-screen.
