You're right. That scene must be cleverly written and I'm really curious to hear Lorelais "reasons" not wanting to be married to Chris.

I'm also wondering if he will get a big shock. I mean, okey, he has his fears that she's not fully commited to the marriage but does he expect her to end it all? But then again, I don't think somebody would fight for the other person when she says that she "doesn't even want to be in this marriage".

Ouch. That's gotta hurt.

She knew it was wrong but was stuck in it now and to suck it up and get it over with. Just too damn bad Luke entered her life again and little hubby wasn't so sure about himself and his influence on her anymore

All his attempts to maker her forget No.1 and concentrate on him No.2 failed. Not really a big surprise since he acted like a 5yo and slowly opened her eyes that you can't baby a grown man all the time

Reason No.1 - she just doesn't love him enough to be married to him, spending the rest of her life with him, sharing the good and the bad with him, having another kid with him. Simple doesn't want to be with him.
Reason Mo.2 - he again abandoned his family especially his daughter because of his own needs. He can't jump over his own shadow for once and just be there for the people he claims he loves so much and wants to be a family with. He clearly doesn't know what that means and that's why she says Bye Bye to him.

Maybe to you, but not to Luke and not to Lorelai. The point of this is to show that those two are still connected heart and soul, and would drop anything to help each other, regardless of how uncomfortable they feel or how bizarre it would seem. And I doubt any of them (Rory included) are thinking about how inappropriate it is for him to be there.

Especially Emily, who accepts his offer of help. I guess someone forgot to tell her that Luke doesn't belong there. Or that she doesn't like him.

I agree. Actually having Luke at the hospital feels completely natural to me. And I'm not talkin' as a JJ but as a show viewer.
It's what it would have happened in the past seasons, before they even got together.
It's what they really are, their strongest and solid point in their relationship - wheter is a friendly or a romantic one: they are there for each other.

And this is to show that Luke is not just one of Lorelai exs - to see Jason there at the hospital, THAT would be weird - but is, indeed, someone that "once is in your life, he's IN your life".

He was always there and will always be there - once in your life, he's in your life forever.

Someone at L/L thread suggested that the line Lorelai says about not even wanting to be in the marriage is possibly not said to Chris. Maybe she says it to Sookie while they are planning the funeral for Michel's dog or something. Promos have been misleading in the past.

I would love it if she is saying it to him but now I'm not feeling all that certain.

I do hope he comes back all puffed up with ideas about how they can work it out - probably thinking she has been pining for him - lays out a litany of things that need to change including her not seeing/speaking to Luke, moving from SH and she lets him know that she has no intention of doing any of those things because she doesn't "even" want to be in the marriage.

Luke being at the hospital is rubbish? He's not going to be there for E/R - he's going to be supportive of Lorelai and Rory - and since Emily accepts his help - I guess he isn't so unwanted after all since her son-in-law in missing in action. And, if this is rubbish, then Partings and French Twist (in particular) is rubbish times one million. At least there is a backstory for Luke being there.

Oh, Lancer - thanks - I missed that part where she says Christopher before the line....that makes me really happy. I can only imagine the expression on his face at that point - can't wait to see it.

Oh - there has to be a Luke rant in there somewhere - I'm dyin' for one. I have been loving the more outwardly sweet Luke we have been seeing, but I've always known that was in him - I'm just missing some of his grumpiness and rants.

Can't remember when we last got a rant out of him....For some reason the last one I recall is the one in the limo about NY...which nicely lead to some goodness for L/L.

There must have been another one after that. There was the mini rant about Rory going back to school just before Lorelai proposed, but other than that can't remember. I want one.

Oh, I know about the reasons.

I was just wondering if she would be that honest and tell them to Christopher or if she just says that she doesn't want to be married to him.
