Thanks for the summary of the podcast, caf So, MA thinks Chris looked very pretty - isn't that something? What about an avi with those two

Thanks caf.

Who cares anyway! Why does it even matter what some body else thinks about your ship?

And thanks again to all who gave us the great spoilers!

I believe the podcast transcript said MA felt that Chris appeared "petty"

That fits in nicely with the title for 7.14 then.

yeah, you can all mock or shout at me for using bold colored caps myself.

We've had our last warning. We got a lot of spoilers yesterday. Which we wouldn't have known about it this thread wasn't here as a place to share them.
ITA

...also as Emily said “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”

ETA - do we have this weeks podcast TS yet?

Slightly OT...but I certainly hope there is a season 8. I will finally be moving back to California. I would really like to do the CW tour while GG is still in production. Of course there are other reasons that I would love to have another season.

LOL, you're right. I should train my reading skills more often. Now his statement makes sense to me

I posted this on the L&L thread but it applies here also.

I understand the whole thing about the ep feeling forces and was just 44 minutes leading up to Chris walking out and Richard at the end, but yes they were a little hard on it, it may not have been the best over all but it was not the worst of the season by far!

Although it would be hilarious if MA said Chris was pretty. It would have been like the shot heard round the world...only with much less historical relevance.

I agree. The episode was quiet entertaining, no highlights for 44 minutes, but pleasant to watch. And the scene in the kitchen was definitley worth waiting. The last time I had a lump in my throat while watching Gilmore Girls was during the separation of Emily and Richard and the dialogue between Chris and Lorelai, the acting brought some of the old hanging on the edge and worrying with the characters back (Well, for me, I understand that JJ's probably did nothing else during the last months, LOL), so did Richard's collapse. I think it was a good starter and I'm ready for the main dish.

That's why I stumbled over the sentence and thought it was something, LOL.

It would have been pretty stinkin hilarious if he had said that though.

There was something throwback about this episode. It almost had that if-I-blink-I'll-miss-something feel...sort of. I rewound the Sookie breakdown scene a couple of times just to see her do her funny movements. That was a well written scene.

I also loved when Lorelai was describing giving Rory a bath for the first time. Too funny.

I'm just so nervous for next week because I have waited so long for DR to bring back the family dynamics. And it's such a specific vibe they have to recreate in such an important episode. It's entirely possible that to really nail the Gilmore family, your initials have to be ASP...I guess I shouldn't watch F&S anytime in the next week?

I thought it was one of the better episodes of the season, outside of the court case scenes, which were clunky and felt like they were written by someone else. It didn't have the pop culture refs, but the characters had life and heart, and felt like themselves. Unlike MF or GB or Emily in LFC or all the townies who turned into vipers in KPK. Richard/Rory, Paris/Rory, and like Riska mentioned the kitchen scene. Sookie actually had a storyline which didn't involve her nodding to Lorelai about her travesty of a love life. Everything about the episode felt like it was heading somewhere, finally. And for that, I'm very happy.

This may have been discussed ad nauseum, but hopefully you all won't mind....

I have to admit that at the beginning of this season I was happy someone other than Amy was at the helm...I realize this is blasphemous in some circles. However, it seemed to me that Amy broke GG before she left and handed the pieces over to the CW along with an obscene gesture or two. I was also never very pleased with how Amy wrote LL as a couple..but I digress.

When I first read the CL marriage spoiler I was outraged. After some thought I became somewhat zen about it all. In fact I thought maybe once and for all the Chris specter would be exorcised after the marriage and inevitable break up. I was hoping in fact that all the Gilmore women would have the myth of Chris debunked, first and foremost Emily. Rory has always shown better judgement regarding her dad as a romantic interest for Lorelai. I was hoping that Emily would be shown that Chris would never have been a good match for Lorelai.

I am hoping that is exactly what we will see in the next couple episodes, finally Emily seeing for herself who is a better man and maybe just maybe she will express those feelings to Lorelai in 7.16.

Any takers on that supposition?

I'm dying to know, if they pick up Richard's "promise".

You put it better than I did, I totally agree. (Well, despite Emily and LFC, I think she felt very real and very Emily, she just is a very complex women with rather unlikeable sides and that's why I love her the most and the short "I see you're having a terrible time" interaction with Lorelai was lovely and very mother/daughterish)

Well, Emily stated more than once (last with her unfriendly advice) that Chris is not really her first choice for Lorelai, but the most suitable man Lorelai ever came up with. And I think this won't change, even if the marriage ends. Imo, she'll hope that the marriage with Chris can be fixed first and then will try to introduce Lorelai to some other men of whom she thinks they're suitable for her daughter. Maybe Emily will understand Lorelai (if the Scotch helps them to have a serious talk) still I don't think that she'll ever think that Luke is a better man or the best man Lorelai can get. She'll accept it, if they come back together, she showed she can do that already, maybe she'll even learn to like him, yes - but I don't see that Emily will ever think that Luke is the perfect guy for her daughter.
