What will happen if this does wind up being the last season?

Will they really end the series without luke and lorelai atleast pregnant or married? that would totally suckkk.

I really hope this isnt the last season, and they end it perfectly next season! (with alexis still in the show, and Lorelai and Luke married, with a kid, or at least pregnant, and everyone living their somewhat happily-ever-after, and some true family bonding with the elder Gilmore's.. I'd love that before this show ends, we see Lorelai hug at least one of her parents... and maybe her wedding is the perfect place for that, as richard walks her down the isle...)

If they do end it this season there will be so much that they need to deal with that has been neglected this season. Rory/Logan, Rory and her future career, Rory and Lane (hopefully we will see them together again), L/L (more than a quick kiss in 7.22), Rory and Chris, the girls and the parents - so much that they will have to wind up quickly and usually, for me anyway, that means unsatisfying.

Personally, I have always expected this to be the last season so I've kind of resigned myself to feeling less than satisfied by how these characters' lives are wrapped up.

But they wasted so much of the season focused on C/L that they really need to play catch up with all the other characters. I was surprised that DO actually admitted it was a rocky start - they rarely do admit things like that. Hopefully that means they will pull out the stops to pull off the rest of the season in a good way.

I know that she has a kid named rory (DUH), but i want her to have one with luke, the love of her life... I'm sorry, am I the only one who feels this way?

And I completely agree, they have spent too much time focusing on lorelai and chris that the next half of the season isnt enough time to do everything they have to do with everyone else's story lines..

Dawn Ostroff doesn't write the show. She has a whole network to deal with. I don't put much faith in what she says. A show like GG needs a better caliber show runner dealing with all the hands on day-to-day storytelling and nuts and bolts and this network fell down on the job by not getting such a person. What makes Ostroff think the second half of the season is going to be any different.

He also has a daughter. Her name is April. If all he did was go to her birthday parties, I bet you all wouldn't think he was much of a father.

In any event, I don't know why Lorelai's life is somehow diminished if she doesn't have another baby. It's not like she hasn't had the experience of motherhood.

I don't think her life would be diminished. It's just a romantic notion that lots of us have after investing so many years in this couple.

It's not diminished, but why wouldn't she want the experience of making a child with the love of her life and expanding the family they already have together, consisting of rory and april, but why wouldnt they want a child together as well?
