Seriously. So long as it's not the incompetent weirdo that Rory saw in 6.11, and in no way resembling such incompetent psychologists, I'm all for it. The one in Partings was very good IMO. She gave good, sound advice (until she said "Some things are just never meant to be").

Thanks curlyhead!! Now we know we get KIRK!!! And PARIS!!! Of course, Gregg Henry is a GREAT snag because last year I heard they had problems scheduling him in...he's got a quite busy schedule.

I thought Babette sees the moving van? Isn't she around?

Mitchum does bring drama...I don't know about his motivations at the moment though...why is he concerned with Logan's progress...why is he asking Rory to get involved...is he simply using Rory as a pawn to help move Logan on the path Mitchum paved for him, telling her what he wants her to do for him to get Logan to do what he wants?

Or is he expressing genuine concern for Logan and asking Rory to help him ensure that Logan will be okay, taking a step back and giving Logan the independence and freedom to make his own decisions?

It's one of the two, not both, IMO. Mitchum sounds like one who'd do the former rather than the latter. In purpose of storyline, that would make sense and up the drama for Logan's story, making it interesting. No doubt that it would kind of manipulative but I think that's just something innate about Mitchum that he has never had to change, and he won't be changing it now.

Interesting wording you used there: Mitchum has an issue and gets Rory involved in it, kind of manipulating her into secrecy. If such happens and Logan finds out, there could be serious consequences: They could have an intense fight, they could have a falling-out. Does this sort of plot remind anyone of any recent storylines??? I seem to remember it lasted a few episodes and not many people enjoyed it..

Besides, Mitchum would be showing that he thinks very little of Logan if he thinks that he can use his son's girlfriend to make him do whatever he wants. How humiliating is this?

I agree it would be bad and completely embaressing. But I don't think her going to him and talking to him is manipulation on her part. I don't actually see this happening. I just meant that I could see something like that before I could see Rory ever doing something sneaky to manipulate him no matter how good her intentions are.

Yes, Logan went to London to work for Mitchum, but was the internet company part of the Huntzberger co.? I got the impression it was Logan's alone.

Maybe the wording of the episode discription is muddled. Maybe Mitchum knows something about Logan's business venture being in trouble and he asks for Rory's help in keeping Logan from going off the deep end. Maybe Mitchum is afraid of Logan turning to his old ways if he feels that he failed at his job.

I kind of wonder why the birthday dinner is uncomfortable. It seems that the Huntzbergers and Rory should have come to an understanding by now.

MH is not a people person. He's a business man and a family man. The way he treated Rory in S5 could give any HR person nervous hives, but it wasn't illegal or malicious. He's the type of person that doesn't care whose toes he steps on. He just cares about getting to where he wants to go. He obviously cares about Logan and is concerned that Logan will end up like Finn and Colin. He's been tough on Logan because he felt that's what he needed to do. Over all, I've gotta say that I'm loving his character.

No Rory came to an understanding with Mitchum about Logan's future. No other issues were resolved with Shira and Grandpa.

Maybe the outcome from Marty/Lucy situation will help Rory to not get involved in the same kind of situation with Mitchum/Logan. Especially because Logan didn't take well her role in Marty's deception.

In case you were wondering. Never let a cat out in the snow. When there are parked cars around. Axel grease and cat fur...a bad combination.

That aside;, wow...RORY AND LOGAN SPOILERS! Plus...most of the supporting cast are returning from Lorelai and Chris induced hybernation. Yippee! Oh yeah, the next time someone brings up SOAP and GILMORE GIRLS. Please point out to me how any character on this show comes close to AJ WELLS. A character so ridiculously over the top and devious. HE impregnates a woman on the FIRST TRY, then rescues her husband. Whom was trapped underneath a large wooden plank. That's about as a contrieved and hooky as it gets. THUS THE INHERENT DIFFERENCE between something dealing with real life (or a close faximile) and a show dealing with the exploits of small mysterious towns and a hospitals across this fine country.

One last thing; Mitchum either knows something about the internet company failing, or he simply does not want Logan doing something OUTSIDE of the NEWS business. Mitchum always has a plan. His going to Rory for help...will most likely have a rather large alteriour motive behind it. Nevertheless...there's always choppy waters ahead. That's why SHIPS have navigational systems.
