7.16 finishes Monday not Friday.

It sounds as though Mitchum might've caught wind of Logan borrowing a helicopter and flying off to be with Rory, when the time could've been better spent working.

Indeed. I found the description a bit unusual, if only for the fact that I don't think that Mitchum is of the habit of asking anyone for their help.

Nope they've never had day breaks between filming. It's always been finish one day start the next unless they're filming reshoots or behind. Then it's filming two episodes at once.

i just read the ausiello spoiler thing and argh! i hope season 8 is around then. l&l need to have a kid together. i am sure i am not the only fan who has been really wishing for it for years. that would be the worst ending, to just leave us hanging so to speak.

Unless he's putting Rory on notice that he feels she's too much of a distraction, and he's letting her know work needs to come first with Logan, and his expectation is that she will make that happen. Then if/when something happens with the new company, everything hits the fan and Mitchum will be looking for heads to roll.

OK, thanks. For some reason I thought the first day of a new episode was no filming, just production meetings (reading the script?), unless there's stuff left over to film from the episode before.

If Mitchum is concerned because Logan borrows a helicopter to support Rory and her family while her grandfather is at the hospital, he has a very cold heart. Which shoudn't be a big surprise, if we recall how he treated Logan when he was at a hospital bed.

Now it will be even more cold from Mitchum if he expresses the above thought to Rory...

Though I wouldn't expect him to try to get Rory's help if that were the case. Considering she didn't think well of his reaction to Logan's accident. She doesn't think too highly of Mitchum to begin with.

I think maybe Mitchum has fnally realized that Rory is important in Logan's life and may have some influence with him and so he talks to her about Logan's direction. Which is really crappy - that is such an unfair thing to do.

If she says she would rather not because Logan is following his own path or whatever he is doing and she doesn't want to interfere, Mitchum may wind up blaming her down the line. If she agrees, Logan might get pissed that she did something his father wanted regarding him. It's a no-win situation.

The description says he finds out something about the company he bought - maybe there was something hinky with the company he didn't know about when he bought it and now it is coming to light?

As to Emily's reaction - I'd kind of like her to say something like life is too short to stay in an unhappy marriage or something....given the scare Emily just had with Richard, she may see things a tad different.

This is why I don't think it has anything to do with the helicopter and Logan being there for Rory. Mitchum's manipulative but he's far from stupid.

No he's not. And if he's trying to get Rory's help he might be being manipulative, but he's also treating Rory as a power broker in Logan's life. Not just "your little girlfriend" from 6.15.
