I didn't like the SB episode in season 4 - it felt quite lame and Rory was written pretty boringly that season - but I'd love to see it now, since this year is their last year in college and it would make sense - among all those insane carrier boards that Paris has come up with (man I love that girl! ) - for them to have one last blast

Do we have any clue why Emily is acting so "pragmatic" in the director's cut? Is this the same woman who was so distraught when Richard had a case of angine in season one? Do I assume that she will later have some kind of emotional collapse or is it asking too much for the show to focus on the Gilmores?

I'm still mad that Luke is at the hospital. I would love a one episode break from the dreaded triangle angst.

I am hoping the commercials are misleading. If this episode doesn't have good focus on the Gilmore's, I am going to be highly annoyed.

About Emily's reaction reminds me of my Mother. When her Dad died, everyone sort of freaked because it was a sudden heart attack. No one expected that, because of his diabetes and kidney issues. But when something similar happened with her Mother, it was like the idea was there and she wasn't as shocked. She was much more the pragmatic, push back the emotions, lady. In my world, Richard's first scare=my grandfather, this scare=my grandmother. Does that make sense?

I would love to see those two repressed girls from season 4 go on Spring Break now. Both Rory and Paris have loosened up since then. (Hard to believe about Paris, but I still think so. Not professionally, but personally.)

Curlyhead, it's refered to as a HELLHOLE for a reason. Everything else is not as important as Lauren's character being front and centre on the show that LAUREN is SOOOOOOOOOO important on. Am I kidding? Could be. Nevertheless, it's a HELLHOLE and unless Willow shows up to close it. Everyone else not enthralled by the HELLHOLE, will just have to deal. They've got magic to do. Whether we like it or not.

Jason, you seem to have decided that the LTfH2 is Lauren's fault. Based on interviews I have read with her, I find that hard to believe. She has always said that she finds Gilmore family dynamics to be the most interesting thing for her. I would think if she had that much pull, earlier in the season, we wouldn't have had such an imbalance. I could be wrong, of course. But that was one of the reasons I was glad to see her get a producer credit. She may or may not love my ship for Lorelai, but she does love the Gilmore stuff.

Well, unfortunately I think we already know that there won't be a lot of emphasis on the Gilmores. We know about the scenes with Logan/Rory and the many Luke/Lorelai/Chris related scenes. Boring.......I still don't see how Luke can help with the situation. What errands are so important that Emily can't get done through someone else? Does she need her dry cleaning picked up or some special order salad from Luke's Diner?

I think she'll break down later. She has to. DR would be a stupid, stupid man if he didn't realize that THIS IS HIS CHANCE to show the amazing family dynamics that are the core of this show. And if this is the last season, this episode is such a great way to tie up loose ends. Can't say I know how, but I know the potential is there.

Is it bad that I really really want to see teas in this episode? Particularly KB and LG. I'm praying for a poignant scene between them. The "I'm not hungry anymore" won't cut it for me.

I think she has much more pull than she ever had under ASP and I also think that she loves having all the storylines centered around her.

Emily doesn't like diner food.

Even if the episode is being centered around the Gilmores ... and Luke for some reason. They (Richard and Emily) have been very poorly written this season and it looks like, from that DC, that the nightmare continues.

Emily may not like diner food, but from the extended promo we do see that Luke has brought food from Luke's. I don't care if Emily wants it, I'm just happy to know that Lorelai will be once again have it.

Also - who knows - given that Emily looked pretty disgusted with the cafeteria food, she may give Luke's food a try and wind up liking it - much like she ended up liking frozen pizza back in season one.
