No, Chris is immature and all but if he knew that Richard was sick he would run to the hospital.

Actually I think Lorelai will leave several messages. I think she'll start all worried or maybe just leaving short messages. Then she'll start complaining with him and go all "this is not ok Chris, you should be here".

I don't know. The last bit: It's not ok Chris. It's not ok. That sounds as if she talks to him. Why should she address him like that if she just leaves a message. But I guess we can speculate about that till well till we see the episode next week

I think the upcoming scenes with Chris and Luke, will cause that cap Lorelai put on her relationship and love for Luke (sort of what the Palladinos talked of), to fly off, and after that she'll find it difficult to put any of her Luke feelings back into the bottle.

Lorelai is like a wine taster now. She started a wine tasting with two different wines, and now, knowing the smell and taste of each one, she has to make her choice: which one is better. Wines can have different aroma, body, balance, can be dumb, young or old, or even rough. They come from different vineyards, are or aren't their price worth. Sometimes we don't like the way wine tastes the next day, sometimes we don't have to drink the full bottle to know, which one is better.
Like wine connoisseurs, she has to make the decision: red or white, chardonney or merlot. Is she able to tell the difference between the two wines, are they well balanced and are all the individual flavour aspects integrated? What flavor impression the wine leaves, also referred to as the "finish" of a wine, aftertaste. It's not a blind wine tasting. She has a split personality. One side loves red wine and the other side loves white wine. She can't mix both, and love both, and be married to both.....

I think this is clearly not what they're showing. But that she loves them differently, but each deeply. Which is why she could be happy with either one. Which is why it comes down to the guys, and Luke being a bigger man or mark, depending on how you choose to look at it. Chris can't accept that she also loves Luke, "all or nothing." He wants all, or he's willing to settle for nothing. Luke's going to reconcile the fact that she does love Chris, but has realized with her heartfelt letter, which I thought was a bad piece of writing, as was the entire court case part of the episode, but whatever, that she did/does love him. His problem is with her spinning off so quickly to Chris he thought she never did really love him, not just that he wasn't good enough. He's now realized she does. He's going to end up being okay with the fact that she loves them both, but will choose to live her life with him, putting Chris in the past. Just like she made that choice with Chris, putting Luke in the pastbut Chris can't reconcile the fact that she does love Luke. Chris NEEDS to be THE ONE, and there's not a ONE in Lorelai's life.

As for the DC, I tend to not like RRK, she's very hit & miss for me, SSS was a hit, so far this is a miss. None of the writers this season have shown they really know how to write Emily, a complicated woman that deeply loves her husband & family. That wasn't that woman. While I don't expect her to be falling apart, I expect emotion from her. Not cold calculation, seemingly about someone who could work for her, not her husband who I've never doubted she loves deeply.

I think Emily behaves that way, because she's really scared and fears to break down completely if she shows emotions. So she tries to busy herself with "normal" things, is pragmatic and gets Richard's will. Though I think and hope that after a while Emily will break down and won't be able to keep her facade up.

Agree to disagree -- because I will never see it like this. Season 5 made it clear to me that she can put Christopher in the past, when she's with Luke. This season makes it clear to me that she can never put Luke in the past, even when she's married to Chris. And the reason Chris can't reconcile the fact that she does love Luke is because, as he said, he knows her, and he knows that the lingering love is a deep love. Whereas when Lorelai and Luke get back together, I believe Luke will understand that her love for him is much, much deeper than the love in the CL marraige.

I would be more inclined to trust in this is Emily hadn't been so off in Lorelai's First Cotillion. I don't trust these writers to not turn her into a charicature of herself. Nor do I trust a group of writers that are using Richard being ill as a plot device to reunite LL. Richard's heart attack should be the A plot. Not something that is used to further the perpetual and painful plot that is LLC.

See, and I think last night, romantically, Luke clearly was in the past. She LOVES and wants things to work, with Chris. If the kitchen didn't convince me, the morning in the bedroom did, and how disappointed she was that Luke, not Chris, was calling her.

Right now, Luke's the past. Just like Chris was in S5. Just like in WBB, she still loved Chris, but that love wasn't *active*. She loves Luke still, but it's latent, not *active* she's concentrating on her love for Chris.

So much agreement, Christine! They butchered Emily in LFC, and this is their second big wack at Emily. The only time Emily has felt completely right was the porch scene & the answering machine scene, neither written by RRK. And while RRK has written Emily well, she's also butched her, HKTCC. I want this to be about Emily & Richard, which F&S was, not L/L/C, even for Emily, which is what I fear.

The Richard/Rory scene from the last ep actually gave me a bit more hope that they're on the old path again, bringing back the family. But I agree, Richard's health crisis shouldn't be mainly about LL/C but more about the GG family.

What is she supposed to do? If anything, those scenes redeemed her a little in my eyes. She's trying to make things work with the person she is with. Plus, I think from her perspective, Luke is the one who didn't love her enough/didn't want to marry her. Once she decided on this, she stuck with it and tucked their romance far into her mind. She thinks there's no chance with him. So she's sticking to her marraige and the decision she made to be with Christopher, even if she knows deep down that she is not truly in love with him.

Had Luke come to her and confessed his love for her --like Christopher did in WBB-- I think we would see a very different reaction from her. Filled with regret and longing and maybe THEN it would hit her, all the repressing she's done. But when Christopher confessed his love for Lorelai in WBB, she didn't budge, not one bit.

That Director's Cut makes Emily look really bad and not at all like the Emily of first season, who was in an absolute panic over the idea of Richard dying before her. Why in the heck are they writing her this way? They've taken all the humanity out of her. Does everyone have to be OOC?
