Nah, wasn't condescending then, and I'm not now. I'm just shaking my head.

Lauren also commented on the lack of ILYs between Luke and Lorelai, that it wasn't that they weren't being said, we just weren't seeing them on-screen. That's the way ASP wanted it to be -- she wanted Luke to stay the same, and that's what Luke would do.

At any rate, we can't make a fair comparison using L/L under ASP's direction, and L/C under DR's direction. We'll have to wait until we have L/L under DR's direction, and then judge.

I haven't seen the kiss you are talking about, but I know what you mean.
The first time that Veronica Mars and Logan Echolls kissed, in season 1, my heart skipped a bit and I was fallin' off the chair. Is one of the most deep and passionate kiss I have ever seen on a tv show in a long time. The only one maybe as good as that - or even better but because I had been waiting seven season for that - was Josh and Donnie kissing in TTW.

As for LL: their first kiss was pretty intense - although it's NOWHERE near V/L or J/D for me - but I think that later on ASP directing rules cool the LL thing way too fast.
As for LG feeling more comfy with DS than SP: I guess it's possible and, well, just human, but she's still an actress.
I wanna wait for L/L to reunite when DR is directing though: I hope we'll get all those make out scene we were waiting during ASP dictatorship

Okee it's past midnite here. Time to go to bed.

Nite all

I've liked the verbal sparring dynamic of R/L since they met, (the part of L/L that I liked in earlier seasons as well) but couldn't quite climb on them as a romantic ship. But that's all gone, has been since the last few episodes of last season. I suspect her not having a bf in RL anymore let KAB be more comfortable with MC on screen. I have no complaints about the little bits of intimacy they're allowed to show on screen anymore. But she really has sold Rory's love for Logan since the end of last season, which has translated well, I think, as far as them as a couple goes.

I'm sure L/L shippers will, as you say, see what they want to see. We all do it. I tend to think of the ESH porch kiss, which I don't think is anymore intimate than the various L/C kisses, but always expect to be a scorcher after I read L/L shippers talking about it. I just don't see it, it comes off as easily familiar, to me, not Lorelai wanting to drag Luke inside and rip his clothes off. But then I guess I always judge on screen kissing against the J/A kissing on Farscape, and nothing compares to that.
R/L were the only bright spot in Partings for me. AB's acting was very good in that ep.

Regarding the chemistry of kisses, I see some of L/C's as good, some not, and the same for L/L. However, L/C is more touchy/feely. That might be because of ASP, or LG's choice. I'm hoping I will have chance to compare soon, lol!

I think the hotness I see in the L/L kisses has to do with SP. It doesn't matter what LG is doing, SP always sells it, imo.

Same with MC this season. He has that strong masculine quality that I see in SP. I love it when his voice goes deep. (fans self).

I haven't watched Farscape, or S1 of VM. However, Veronica and Logan kissing last week was very passionate, more than C/L or L/L.

Lauren once said in an interview when asked if tongue or no tongue in her scenes with Scott: It depends on how friendly you are with the other actor's tongue. Looking at those lip locked kisses between LD this season, I guess your question is answered And isn't it funny that when she talks about the show and memorable scenes she always talks about those in which she kisses Scott. Yeah I really am convinced she prefers D over S

While I still think Lorelai will be the one to break up - if only to provide some rationale for her 'journey' - I must say, whoever breaks up and however they break up - if Lorelai ever regrets writing that letter, then she really will pass the point of no return. Forget about an eighth season, it's doubtful that 80 seasons would be enough.

She might regret hiding it, she might regret any number of things, no one really knows the point of this 'journey'. But if she ever regrets writing the letter that apparently tilts the balance to persuade a judge to ever let Luke and his child see each other again.....

Totally agree, and it's not about LL it would be about Lorelai's character going too much down, especially if she only told the true in the letter, regretting to have told the true to help a good person, as Luke is,in order to have the chance to be with his daughter, would be too much.

The touchy-feely thing with CL doesn't bother me all that much. They've been like that since season 1, and season 2, and season 3, and season 5, and season 6, and now in season 7, whereas LL never were. It's part of how the characters were always written/played. You get a tap on the leg or arm from Luke, and that's something. But Chris is much more touchy feely, and that's always shown and continues to be shown. It never took away from LL's chemistry that CL also had chemistry, IMO. LG's always just been more hands on with DS. That's her choice, a directing choice, a writing choice, whatever type of choice it is, but it doesn't take away from LL's chemistry, in my opinion.

I never understood this talk about LG and SP not liking each other. Has it ever been "stated" why? I understand that you can't get along with everybody but considering the chemistry these two have/had, I kind if doubt that they don't get along. Maybe they're not best friends, but it looks like they get along, How can you potray something like these two have done over the seasons and not like each other? Well, maybe it's just me.

And LLs first kiss vas very, very intense

Good night everybody!

ITA and no matter how much input Lauren has this is still DSRs show now

Damn it I want PAD from Luke and Lorelai when they get back together, I want the stuff we missed with ASP, maybe them getting back together this time will lead to them being closer in every way!

Again, if you see Luke as a one-dimensonsal jackass, and refuse to extend yourself past that first impression. Well, you are missing the heart of the Luke character, and to why Luke goes off in those clips. This is a LUKE set free from GRIEF and LOSS. This is a LUKE that FIGHTS. That's what Luke has always been about...but now he's fighting for her and eventually her. Luke was never Lord Humungus. If you assumed he was, then you assumed incorrectly. Since I do not recall Luke ever declaring himself as the AYLATOLLAH OF ROCK N ROLLA!
I love this part of your post. Now granted, I've always loved Luke, but I have been especially loving him this season. SP has been doing an amazing job this season portraying Luke. I guess that I'm what you would call a Luke-mark, but I love this character and how much he's grown. Now, I'm just waiting to see Lorelai grow half as much as he has.

Yeah, the Max scenes were hot. Although, when I re-watched S1, they weren't as hot as I remembered. If I watch any of these couple scenes trying to analyze if they're hot or not, it kind of takes all of said hotness out of it.

My most favorite romantic moment on screen, bar none, is the L/L dance scene in LWTTWF. It's not a kissing scene, but I've never seen anything else to compare to it romance wise.

Lancer, I'm guessing you mean PDA, but I just had this mental image of L/L looking for a "pad" for some romantic together time!

I remember that interview, totally funny. Wasn't that on Ellen? Some talkshow...
And btw, say Lauren and Scott don't really like each other (which I'm choosing not to believe), if Lauren could fake it with Billy Bob Thornton, she can fake it with Scott.

Closer to L/V, though they don't match John & Aeryn. Part of it is the maturity of the actors, and just their absolute selling of John & Aeryn's lust & love for one another. It's palpable. It's this lust/love/need filled chemistry/relationship that Ben Browder & Claudia Black just nail. Picspam of them kissing, here. They never scrimped on tongue usage, which I've rarely seen with tv couples, certainly never on this show. Maybe R/J, but I'm not sure. I like L/L's first kiss, the chin cupping, but it goes very cold for me very quickly in S5.

They were lovely in that episode. So filled with love, banter and a nice intimacy.

MC does have such a nice voice. I've always thought a man with a nice voice is so much more appealing than a hot guy with a voice that's too high. It just ruins all of it.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to try watching from that angle, maybe it will make a difference. I'm not into SP or Luke really, especially after they get together, so I've never really looked at it from that direction.
