I disagree.

Lorelai know she ruined any chance she might have had with Luke by sleeping with Chris.

She really wants to love Chris as a husband.

But, typical Chris: he reads Lorelai's letter about Luke and still doesn't get it: Luke did so many of the things with and for Rory that he should have been doing. Yet, somehow it ends up being all about what Chris needs and wants.

Luke said it was the longest night of his life - so, it was clear he didn't hear about the judge's decision until the morning and then he called her right away.

I'm so glad they didn't draw this custody battle out for more than this episode...that would be just painful.

Can't wait to find out if Chris was just ignoring her messages or what and why he finally decides to show up at the hospital. So, I guess GiGi has once again been parked at the grandmother's house. Good thing. I was wondering if he walked out and left Lorelai with GiGi.

He did look crushed. Afraid my feeling is, it's about time. Don't know if it was easier for him to deal with the Lorelai part or maybe he still puts that first.

I'm curious to find out what Rory actually thinks of all this. And rather worried that she's going to be hurt - well, she's already been hurt, and somehow she seems to be suppressing that.

And her telling her mum she doesn't need to pretend - what about Rory herself? Is she pretending? If she wants this, she hasn't said so. It's another hole.

Christopher still hasn't bothered to ask Rory how she feels, even after reading that letter - does he make any effort to contact his kid? Maybe in later episodes ....

Jason, ITA that LW looked beautiful. And Sookie is hilarious. I'm loving this episode more and more! Though, I'll probably shut up when the knife goes through the heart during the CL scene.

Where was Emily in the promo? It was her husband who had the heart attack. But we see nothing of her -- no receiving the news, no arrival, no sitting by his bedside.

That's going to give ANY spouse concern--esp if hubby/wifie is hiding the letter.

It should give any FATHER concern, when he reads about how someone else was there for his daughter and can be counted on forever - when he wasn't. And won't be, either.

Because what does he do about it? I almost regret being spoiled. Perhaps viewers who don't know about next week, might think he took that to heart? When instead, as we know, next week Christopher won't be there for Rory either, at the hospital where her beloved grandfather is critically ill.

I think the CL fight is absolutely on the money. Sure she's sincerely trying to convince Chris that his worries are ridiculous -- but she's sincerely trying to convince herself the same. Of course it's going to come off as authentic. And I saw cracks of doubt throughout the entire thing. Especially right after he says "you didn't want to move, have a baby" etc. It's all there. I am satisfied.

ETA: "I can't believe I just drank his coffee"...SERIOUSLY Christopher? Seriously? That was the lamest thing he's ever said.

That's what gets me too - even if he is pissed at Lorelai he could show up to be with Rory. He knows (or should know) how much she loves her grandfather. I would think he would want to be there for her. Wonder how all this gets explained.

He's not gone for three days before the hospital. He shows up at the hospital and can't handle something. The three days is irrelevant to whether or not he shows up at the hospital as soon as he hears.
