It was a counterpoint, because you stated that Luke was there to protect Rory and Lorelai. I thought one of the most important aspects of Gilmore Girls is that they were two independent, young women, making it on their own apart from their wealthy family.

I think Rory sees Luke as a friend. However much one loves a friend.

that would be incredible because imo he has dragged the show into an area i bet he didn't know even existed - the exutions (sp) because imo the show is at is worst written, shown etc...

I'm not sure how I feel about a Season 8 (even with AB). Maybe it's to be determined after the second half of S7. Does anyone know if MC is free of any obligation?

Trying to look at it from different angles, I can see the show going on without Rory on as a regular. It'd be a different show, but I don't think it'd be a complete washout. It started out as 2 Gilmore Girls, and evolved into 3, and the Lorelai/Emily storyline is one that still hasn't been fully explored, so I wouldn't mind seeing that if they continue on with it.

Nope. I want it. And knowing my luck, that means it won't happen. I don't want a Roryless season 8, but that would never happen, as we've heard LG say many times.

If there is a S8 with all aboard, it certainly will take the heat off the big crunch for this year. As far as Matt is concerned, that's a good question.

At the risk of posting too much...

IF Matt isn't taken elsewhere and is for a S8 along with Alexis - perfect.
IF Matt has other priorities and can't do a S8, and Alexis only settles for a recurring role - then I can see them writing her as living in NY (or anywhere outside of CT) with Logan but visiting SH.
IF Matt has other priorities and can't do a S8 - and Alexis signs for the whole S8... does it mean they will find another love interest for her? Or will the whole thing be dropped and they will only focus on her career?

I wonder.

In my tour post I forgot to include that they were filming today on the Yale soundstage. Alexis and Matt were both there, though of course we couldn't go in.
One new set on that stage is a new apartment for Logan, according to our guide.

I was referring to, what is no secret, that AB really disliked the pace of the show when ASP was in charge. Once the new show runner came on board, I'm guessing that they allowed her the luxury of working less in order to make her happier and more content. Thus the less significant storyline. That is what has changed, IMO.

Well I doubt it would happen but maybe, after some of the SLs they have had I would not rule anything out with DSR. And IF Logan is gone and Lane is married with twins so if they are both single consenting adults, why not?

Again I doubt it's even an option.
