The new promo is up at CW. It's a bit longer than the one on tv.

The new promo is up at cwtv.com. It's a little longer. After Christopher accuses Lorelai of still being in love with Luke, she desperately tries to hug him saying that she is over Luke and loves him (Chris).

Christopher leaves the kitchen after the follow words: "I can’t handle being your second choice. I thought I could, but I can’t". (Sorry if I heard something wrong: my english is not good)

I just figured he knew that and was hoping she was over Luke by now.

I wonder why that is?
Since it isn't allowed to discuss upcoming episodes or spoilers in the "normal" episode discussion thread that leaves only the spoiler threads to do both, discussing the old one while looking ahead for what's going to happen as well. At least that's my reason why I only discuss the episodes here and not on the other board.

Oy. Wouldn't it be nice if FF could behave for just one day?

So Christopher knew he was second choice, and went along with it anyway. That explains why Chris was in such a rush to move things along, with the wedding in France, and moving house, and kids, and make changes to Lorelai's life and traditions. Trying to wash that diner man right out of her hair.

Just as shoddy as Rory sleeping with a married man and breaking up that marriage, without the excuse of youth and inexperience.
I must go on the record again as pointing out that Dean broke up Dean's marriage. He absolutely fed on Rory's insecurities and naivite, and lied to get her into bed.

Thanks for the longer promo.
Lorelai saying ILY to Chris isn’t really convincing to him. I don’t deny that she might love him, but that isn’t the kind of love Chris hoped for, nor is it the same she still feels for Luke, even though she tries to deny it. Can’t blame Chris for walking out on her. And Lorelai’s ILY to Luke held more truth IMO.

I hear what you are saying and that in itself is another issue but part of the problem that some viewers have, is understanding how she could tell Christopher ILY so many times and then go back to Luke in a short space of time and tell him the same thing. How can we believe her and how will DSR make it believable.

In my attempt to rationalize it, this seemed like a possible direction they could go in explaining her actions and her OOC behaviour thus helping viewers to believe in her sincerity again and maybe even buy into her next marriage.

Lorelai may be the one who initiates the divorce but, based on the DC, that will be AFTER Chris ends the relationship.

The spoiler may be true, but it wasn't accurate--based on the DC, anyway. So both sides appear to be right. Whatever Lorelai's epiphany in 7.13 is, it will be after Chris appears to dump her in 7.12--despite her ILY to him.

IMO he will be his own undoing in the coming eps by his own actions he will loose Lorelai, we just don't know how. This can't all come down to Lorelai having a change of heart 'Fluke' v Chris.
Not looking that way in the DC--it looks like Christopher is the one who leaves Lorelai

You are right--Lorelai says ONSCREEN that she loves Chris

i could tell by watching last nights episode that lorelai and rory both weren't very happy that chris was trying to change things for example: going out and buying new christmas stockings.

With Rory basically telling Lorelai to not worry about her, she's a big girl now, I think it was setting up for Rory not taking sides at all. We've seen her angry with both parents over things that affect their tangled, complicated relationships, and I think she's ready to step back and say "I'll be ok no matter what, and my relationship with each of you individually will be fine too, so do what you need to do to be happy".

And it's true. She does. Just not in the way it takes to make this marriage work.

Well put Captain! It sounds, if the spoiler is accurate about a future episode, not 12, and hopefully not 13, this is, at best, going to be a mutual breakup. You can't really kick out someone that's already left.

But who´s more pathetic.....Lorelai for marrying someone she doesn´t love, or Chriss for marrying someone when he knew all along that he was just the second choice.....

Still, Lorelai tries to reach Chriss all day....so IMO what he sees in the hospital will make him prob say some very nasty things.....and thats the last light bulb Lorelai needs, to see that this is not working

And I don´t care who ends this silly marriage, point is THAT it ends.....
