Luke and April are back in front of the diner. She is talking about other ways she can sneak over to see him. He says no that she shouldn't and that he is trying to figure out a way with his mother. April mentions the court ...she says that her mom has a shark for a lawyer. Luke emphasizes how they have to do this right because of the court stuff...

Yep. I think you are right Lemon. Of course, I think that plays into some of the things that weren't resolved in the Lorelai and Rory rift.

Lorelai finishes writing the letter...and runs down the stairs...Chris, gigi and rory are finishing up the decorating....

she says that she has to run out for a bit..

she posts the letter and it starts snowing while she does.....

good ep. i was starving for LL interaction, so twice in one ep was nice. and a whole ep with rory in SH- in fact a very SH-y ep. i can't wait for next week though. hope its a doozy.

She should have just been honest from the very beginning and not entered into any relationship (let alone a marriage) with Christopher. The latest secrets? Just icing on the Mistake Cake she's been baking for the past six months or so.

Lorelai is in over her head and I think she knows it. It wouldn't surprise me if Rory sided with Christopher (initially), but, then again, we have to remember that he is going to do some damage of his own in a couple of episodes. Namely, yet again, neglecting to be there when he is needed.

I would like that, a lot. I know it's been specced that the TA 'crush' has to do with her realizing what it's like to be interested in 2 men at once, but I think that's lame.

I hate to say it but that pregnancy looked uber fake. The storyline was funny though! I think she feels ignored. Everyone (including Mrs. Kim) is focusing on her twins. She plays a great pregnant woman though!

actually i think the ta crush could be about an intellectual crush. you know one of those strange things were you only really like someone for thier brain.. maybe it has more to do with her getting into school more. Maybe its a way to get her thinking about grad school in the case of an eight season.

I don't know if I'm uber impressed but my Mom and I did genuinely laugh at the Michel-Luke exchange. That was classic.

At least, for once, there was Lorelai moments of her actually being rattled the presence of and discussion about Luke.

Also...is it just me or was there a parallel between her answering definitively"yes" several times to his question before he actually accepted her answer...kind of like when she proposed to him.

LORELAI: Luke, will you marry me?
LUKE: What?
LORELAI: Luke. Will you -
LUKE: Yes.
LORELAI: Well, you don't have to answer so -
LUKE: Yes.
LORELAI: Well, you can take a minute to -
LUKE: No.

I also loved when he offered her the handshake. That was a great moment. Luke rendered her speechless...and that's something.

Sorry, I was watching VM. Craig, giving you the benefit of doubt on your intentions, I accept your apology. Here is the PBP I wrote. Those of you who have PMd me, I won't respond to all of you individually, but here it is. I hope you see it:

I'm posting tonight's PBP here in the MT. I considered posting it to the Sophie Spoiler Thread, ONLY, as its been brought to my attention that this is now being done in the other main shipper thread for this fandom with spoilers, but I decided that would be rude. This is done for everyone. Others may disagree, but as Caf posted some time ago, lots of people only come to the MT, and don't visit the various shipper threads, so if I only posted it to the Sophie thread and asked that it not be brought over here many would never realize it had been done. And that seems wrong. This thread is supposed to be for everyone, and everything's supposed to be posted here, even if it has to be brought over after the fact. So, based on that – Enjoy.

Teaser:
Lorelai keeps looking outside her bedroom window at her driveway. Rory finally pulls up and Lorelai runs down. Gigi and Chris run out with her. Lorelai is excited to see Rory and is ranting about not letting her pick her up at the airport because Rory will have forgotten which side of the road to drive on. Rory calls Gigi “little sister” and Gigi grabs on to Rory’s leg and won’t let go. Chris says something about Rory forgetting to drive on the right side of the road and then Lorelai and Chris rant about stealing each other’s “material.” Rory notices that there are no lights on the house and Lorelai says that’s because she hasn’t had Christmas yet. She notices Rory’s earrings and asks if those were a present from Logan. Rory says yes and Lorelai rants about how she held up Christmas for Rory – she even stopped snow. There were no presents, no eggnog. Nothing. So they’re going to celebrate Christmas now.

02:
Chris, Lorelai and Rory are bringing in Christmas trees and they look pretty sad and bare. Lorelai and Rory are saying that the trees are great. They bought seven trees because they were $1/tree. Gigi wants to know what Lorelai has Santa’s clothes. Lorelai replies that it’s because she used to do Santa’s drycleaning. Lorelai asks Rory about Logan after the whole Lucy/Marty debacle. Rory said she was mad but Logan apologized and said that he was a bit jealous. Rory says that she can’t believe she was suckered into the whole debacle. Lucy still won’t talk to Rory even though Rory left her a lot of messages. Lorelai and Rory tell Chris about all their Christmas traditions – very “Lorelai/Rory.” Chris wants to start traditions as a family and he has these stockings and wants to go carolling. The girls say that no one would want to hear them sing. Chris starts singing.

Luke enters the Inn and Michel is rude to him (DC). Lorelai comes out and sees Luke and looks slightly uncomfortable. They go to the library to talk. Luke tells her about Anna wanting to move to New Mexico and taking April with her and how he’s fighting for custody. Lorelai tells him that it’s good that he’s doing it. Luke asks Lorelai to write a character reference for him because the one that Liz wrote is not sufficient. Lorelai says yes that she’ll do it. Luke gives her his lawyer’s address so she can mail it directly to him. He thanks her, they shake hands and he leaves.

03:
Lorelai is sitting in the library trying to write the letter and seems to be having trouble. She goes into the kitchen and Sookie tells her that it’s pressure. Lorelai agrees because it effects him getting some custody. Sookie says that it must be difficult because of her history with him. She says that it’s not that but that she just wants to write a powerful letter. She goes back and we see several scenes of her trying to write the letter but can’t.

Lane is at the diner serving customers looking VERY pregnant and someone asks her if she’s carrying twins and she rants about how some people can’t be plus size. Then she says that of course she’s carrying twins. Lane is miserable and ranting at customers.

April walks in and Anna doesn’t know about her being there. Luke is happy to see her but says that it’s not right but April says that she has it all worked out because she misses him. April begs him not to take her home and gives him a belated Christmas present.

Lorelai, Rory and Gigi are stringing popcorn and cranberries, all wearing red Christmas sweaters. Lorelai and Rory are talking about the character reference letter and Lorelai says that she’s having trouble writing it. Lorelai goes on a wonderful monologue about her jumbled thoughts. Rory says that perhaps there’s a reason she’s having trouble. Lorelai asks Rory to write the letter because she’s a wonderful writer. Rory says no and then says that she’ll write a letter to Lucy that way she won’t have to see her. Gigi asks them what letter and Lorelai says it’s to Santa.

Chris comes in and Lorelai changes the topic. She tries to see what Chris has in his bags and he says that they’re Santa’s secret stuff. Gigi says that Lorelai knows Santa because she does his drycleaning.

04:
Lane is leaving the diner and looking horribly miserable. She gets home where Zach and Mrs.Kim are talking. Mrs.Kim is telling Zach about good things in each food. She sits down and Zach rubs her feet and he tells her about compression pantyhose. Zach and Mrs.Kim are all over her about her vitamins. Mrs.Kim goes into the bedroom and Lane grabs a chocolate hidden behind the couch cushion and eats it. Lane notices a crib that is big enough for both babies but asks where her drums are. Zach put them in closet. Lane wants to have band practice.

Lorelai and Rory are at Weston’s talking about them stopping to serve candycane coffee after Christmas. They were there to give Lorelai motivation to write the letter. Lorelai is trying to ask for candycane coffee. Rory asks Lorelai why she’s lying to Dad. Lorelai says that she’s not lying. While they’re walking through Stars Hollow Rory says that they are lying by omission and that they should have learnt from the Lucy problem. Lorelai says that the truth is more complicated and Rory wants Lorelai to tell her what’s going on. Lorelai says that things are more than great with Dad but that he was a bit on edge after seeing her with Luke and Liz’s baby and after the whole wedding party with Mom. Rory says that she’s not a kid anymore and that Lorelai doesn’t have to make things all happy for her.

April’s gift to Luke was a paper mache of her face that Luke hangs on his wall. They talk about April’s classmates and friends on her swim team. Luke talks to her about New Mexico and April is unhappy. Luke gives her present to her and she unwraps it. It’s a rock polisher. She loves it but she already got one from Grandma. She says that she could use this one, too because it looks more powerful and she has a ton of rocks in her room. Luke keeps bringing up New Mexico.

Lorelai is lying on her bed trying to write the letter when Chris comes up and Lorelai quickly hides it. Chris asks what it was and Lorelai says that it was Santa’s secret stuff.

05:
The band, minus Gil, is at Lane’s place with all their instruments out. Brian can’t stop staring at Lane’s tummy. Zach is concerned about the loud music for the babies. Zach is showing Brian the different ways to hold a baby that he has learnt. Gil finally arrives with his son, Macon. Gil sees Lane’s breast pump and says that it’s a great one. Lane says that Brian is probably not interested in the pump but they all look on in awe.

Lorelai and Rory are Christmas shopping. They don’t know what to get Chris. Lorelai says that she’s never bought anything for a husband before. They see a telescope and decide to check it out. Rory spots Luke at the store, standing in line. They decide to go over and say hi to Luke and April. They talk about how they’re celebrating Christmas now. April calls Rory glamourous meeting her boyfriend in a foreign city. April explains that they’re returning a gift that Dad bought her that she already has and now got a microscope. Luke says that he was never good at buying gifts. Rory says how Luke once gave her monogrammed towels. Rory says that she remembers getting a unicorn and that she was being polite even though she never liked it. She ended up getting unicorns for years after even though she wasn’t into them, but Luke always remembered her birthday.

06:
Lane and Zach walk out of Doose’s. Zach is being very over-protective and Lane is getting irritated. Zach loves having Mrs.Kim around because of all the help, but Lane is sick of being treated of being told what to do constantly and having to hide things in the floorboards again. Lane is saying that she had a small window to be a person after being a repressed kid and now it’s gone. Zach says that at least it’s rock and roll and Lane can still be a person after the kids especially with Mrs.Kim’s help.

Luke and April get to the Diner and April has a plan to tell Anna that she’s elsewhere but really come to meet Luke. Luke says that they can’t lie to Anna. He explains that he’s in negotiations to see her. April says that he needs a good lawyer because Mom hired a shark. April tells Luke to keep the microscope so she can use it the next time she’s there. They hug and April says bye and gets on her bike.

Lorelai is using a typewriter to type the character reference letter that she had previously hand-written. She finishes it and puts it in an envelope. Chris, Rory and Gigi are sitting in the kitchen making cookies. Lorelai overhears them and smiles. She tells them that she’s going out for a bit. She walks to a mailbox and mails the letter. It’s snowing outside. She walks back.
