Sarah, I am just no fan of INTENSITY. Unless it involves Kimi sticking it to Alonzo. Nevertheless, I get your point, and was thinking about it. While I was walking around Target. She is a bit stunted. It does not make this storyline any more silly or worth yelling about...but...if Nola's sister's rant about reflective storylines comes to fruition. It's very possible that this is a reflective storyline from the past to highlight something in the present for the future. If you look at it that way. It makes a small lick of sense. This could also explain how the whole season is a set-up for changing the show next year. Since the mistakes of the past will be reckoned with, and the GIRLS can finally live for the MORROW.
Nevertheless, I have felt for a while, that season eight should be split between the girls. Each episode could have Lauren or Kim in it for the other. However, this can be dealt with, by having the last day of Lauren's or Kim's filming day. Revolving around shooting a scene or two together. If they split up the eps between the GIRLS. This show can go into some very interesting territory for it's final season. Since the last episodes would deal with each GIRLS' perspective of the world, their interaction with other characters, and would involve more secondary characters. Rory's story would deal with entering the work place, living with Logan, and going to FND with Logan. Lorelai's can revolve around Luke, their upcoming marriage, the town, and the random interactions Lorelai can have with her mom from time to time. I have nary a clue. If the GGWT could pull this off. If this were my world. I would have fun connecting Rory and Lorelai's story by not having Rory and Lorelai really interact all that much in a story. Of course, Lauren, wants Rory to move back to the Hollow. I am sure Sandlynn is gathering her armies right now. Nevertheless, splitting up the time between the two, makes the most sense in OPTIMIZING their time next year. |

Rory and Logan have only been together for two years (since around WBB) so I don't know why the euphoria would be gone by now - they have also spent considerable time apart - the first summer when Logan went to Europe and Rory did community service and then apart again for this past summer and part of the Fall - those kind of situations can oftentimes enhance the euphoria.
If the euphoria is indeed gone for them - that would be awfully sad. Also, "intense" to some may not be "intense" to others - we don't have much info Also - do we know if Logan is in 7.13? I know we got a spoiler that he is in 7.14, but I can't remember whether we know for certain whether he is in 7.13. |

Jason, that sounds like an AWESOME way to do a season 8. If only the writers could come up with something like that. But I won't hold my breath.
clmorrow, there is a complete difference between euphoria and BEING IN LOVE. One goes away after a bit, the other lasts. I would think two years is a pretty decent time to have the euphoric kind of relationship. I would think that you're right. Him being away for part of that time kept the euphoria going longer than most relationships. However, when in that first part of a relationship, you are not seeing or thinking clearly. You are so IN LOOOVVVVE that a person has no faults. Nothing can stop you, you are meant to be, and all that. Afterwards, comes the real CHOICE. Because many people, tend to think the relationship is over once the euphoria period ends. When really, that is the real START of an adult relationship. Also, euphoria comes and goes. Once it's gone in the beginning of the relationship, does not mean it will never come back again. I was never more ridiculously in love with my husband, then when I was pregnant with our last child, and when it was our 10th year of marriage. Because those things tend to make you reflect, and when you reflect, if you are in a GOOD relationship, you will fall in love with your partner all over again, and this brings about a new sense of euphoria. __________________

That's deep and I like it. But, that's assuming the writers are A) somewhat sure about an 8th season becoming a reality and B) clever. And neither seems the case. Jason, I truly hope that "intense" is incorrect just as "epiphany" is. I can't seem to come up with a logical explanation for this SL. I agree with SarahLovesLogan's post. This is a far stretch, but could Rory's crush on the TA somehow parallel Lorelai's situation? I'm not sure how to connect this. Just trying to think outside the box. Or maybe, alongside her crush, the whole Bobby thing is brought up. I'll keep thinking, as I'm clearly not coming up with anything that makes sense! LG's interview is interesting. It seems to me that as well as the money issue, there's the issue that she and Alexis don't think the season is up to par. I forget what it is she said but it was something like, she hasn't decided what she thinks of this year. Anyways, I trust LG's intuition, and if she thinks that it's better to call it quits now than to have a mediocre 8th season, that might be for the best. But for SL purposes, an 8th season would be heavenly. __________________

There would be big potential storyline for Lorelai and Rory in S8. For Lorelai to start her middle with Luke, for Rory - life doesn´t end after you graduate, it begins, for E/R, they would certainly find something to drive Lorelai crazy.....
But we have to wait and see.....but IF it ends this season, I hope that all the JJs and Sophies will be happy in the end..... |

Sarah, what you posted about the crush makes more sense than anything else that's been posted thus far. I've stayed away from all of this, mostly because I don't really know what to think. So I'm going to wait to see what happens on screen before freaking out or throwing Rory under the bus. Thank you for your lucid posts, which made me have to pause in my constant page scrolling that catching up today has been. Not much insight offered or much of interest to read.

As someone who is 40 plus years, I am fully aware of the difference between euphoria and being in love. I've been fortunate to experience both a few times.
I was saying that there have so little time in which R/L were just smoothly percolating along without either a separation (his europe trip, his being in London), as well as the times they split up - that they really haven't had the time to just settle in - I'd think they would still be pretty exicted about one another and still experiencing that crazy, wonderful giddiness. But, since the last time we saw them they had just quarreled, we have no idea what happens before this crush thing - we know she goes to London (or is it Rome? I forget) - but, do we yet know that there weren't any problems between them when they were together? Since neither of the girls seems to be able to go a day without angst in a relationship, maybe the writers will have thrown another monkey wrench into the works. |

WGNTV – LG interview January 8th - Video
Announcer: Now, we caught up with a Chicago favorite over the weekend, Lauren Graham, Lorelai from Gilmore Girls on the CW, starring in a new movie, a little romantic comedy called ‘Because I Said So’ with Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore. And when we talked with her, she remembered her early morning Chicago work schedule. Lauren: I worked in Ann Sather. The one on Belmont. Is it Belmont? (interviewer confirms). Yeah, and uhm, I sold cinnamon rolls at 6 o’clock in the morning; it was the best job ever. And, uh, you try not to eat those cinnamon rolls when that’s all you can smell for like three hours. And you’d always be sick by the time you left, and it didn’t matter. Announcer: Sick in a good way, no doubt about that. ‘Because I Said So’ opens February the 2nd, we’ll review it then. By the way, tomorrow, some surprising news from Lauren about the possible future of Gilmore Girls on the CW, and here on WGN. WGNTV – LG interview January 9th - Video Announcer: We’ve got some hot news about one of the CW’s hot shows the Gilmore Girls; for the past seven years, the Gilmore Girls has been a multi award winner and industry and ratings and viewer hit for the WB now CW network but there’s a strong sign that this may be the last year of the Gilmore Girls. The great writing, the performances that have sustained one of the stars, one-time Chicago-in, Lauren Graham - Lorelai, the mother in turmoil may be up in jeopardy, (we) caught up with Graham over the weekend in Los Angeles talking about her new movie, but when we brought up the future of the Gilmore Girls, she was more than unsure and very conclusion-y about something you’d think the star of the show would be a lot more sure and positive about. Lauren: Uhm, I don’t know anything, because, it could be our last year, or it could not be; well because, I don’t know. Because they’ll--- we’ll have to decide, there’s nothing kind of happening. There’s, you know, this has been the best job ever, and I--- if it might be the end, I’d just like to really do it justice and give the fans like a great, you know, kind of finish to the show. And it’s just amazing to think how long, you know, this has been my job. And so I’m very proud and, you know, like, invested in it. Announcer: That’s a far cry for the unusual ‘we’re waiting to hear about renewal from the network’, she’s practically cleaning out her dressing room. Said that the CW has expressed an interest, but has done nothing else about it. We’ll keep you posted on the future of the Gilmore Girls, of course you can catch it tonight at 7 o’clock on WGN. First rough transcript and editing thanks to Caf __________________

I don't want Rory moving back into the hollow at the end of the season she needs to go and spread her wings.

No doubt, I'd love to see a bit of Luke and Lorelai's middle -- moving in together, dealing with the parentals, deciding about kids, etc. I think there are a lot more stories to tell __________________
