Jason, stop classifying LL shippers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not once have I fit the description you've given!

How did this discussion get started? The spoiler is about Lorelai ending the marraige; no implications of whether or not Chris puts up a big fight, etc, etc. And nowhere does it state that, post-epiphany, Lorelai find complete and utter happiness. Because she will not! She will realize her mistakes and face the consequences. So what good is it saying Lorelai is despicable or that her character is idiotic or her decision to end the marraige is disgusting or whatever else?

If Lorelai needs to be MARRIED to realize that she LOVES ANOTHER MAN. I do not even want to discuss what it will take for LORELAI to figure out that she needs to treat her parents better. Of course, Lorelai, would get off with these actions. Since she's a GOLDEN GOD. Who should be married, with kids, run the world, control menions, run an inn, and be the all-around most bizarre dresser in the history of TV! STRETCH PANTS! STRETCH PANTS! STRETCH PANTS!

I may not always like how story lines develop or the direction they take but it’s not my story to tell so I just have to accept it as fact when it’s told.

We can’t always question the creators of fiction (TV and novels) and why they do the things they do because we don’t agree with it. DSR indicated that they sat down at the beginning of the year and plotted out a general plan for the direction of the season (or something to that effect). I believe everything we are seeing now on GG has been planned and was set in motion from the beginning of this season. It was only a matter of time before all was revealed.

Things change, people change, we learn something new every day (about each other and the world in general). We don’t always share everything about our lives to the people we share our confidences with (maybe the timing wasn’t right or we just forgot). Sometimes it takes years of building up trust in someone before we reveal to them some sensitive things we’ve kept to ourselves for years.

That being said, because we never heard a character say sometime before, doesn’t mean that it never happened when we finally hear about it. Keep them guessing and interested in the story so that we’ll want to come back for more. GG has kept us in the dark many times about many things that all we can do is join forces and speculate about their meanings. That’s good story telling and the reason why these forums exist.

The L/C break-up/divorce/whatever has nothing to do with how Lorelai feels about Luke.

I would be more sympathetic to her if she tried at all to make it work, like Chris tried. She never did. So, I find her sudden need to exit stage left, more of a farce than anything. I loved that date she went on with Luke in WITS. Really liked it, but now, I feel like I don't care about this couple because I can't feel sympathy for two people who are are so incapable of *really* giving of themselves to a partner. They are emotionally crippled people who drag others into their disaster zone. Well, Lorelai does. Luke is too much of a loner to drag anyone with him, although April may be a candidate.

But if something a character says is completely belied by their past actions we have a right to complain and call it OOC. If Rory had EVER treated Luke as though he was like a father to her, than I wouldn't care if they made up a few stories to embellish the point. But she hasn't. So if they try to have Rory say that, I will be mad.

So what DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH? Teasing is prohibited, right? Whateverthecase, Lorelai always win. She will win this time. Excuse me for not being a LORELAI MARK, and not exactly being overjoyed with LORELAI GILMORE BREAKING FREE...AGAIN. This is not a NEW Lorelai. This is the same old Lorelai. Whose always two seconds away from pull a dick move on anyone. Especially those she SUPPOSEDLY loves. You want this...gal...to be with Luke? Luke may have problems. Yet, his problems, are miniscule next to the GOLDEN GOD. Who deserves to end this show like Michael ends the Godfather II. That's what LORELAI has EARNED.

ETA: Tara, you get another star at 500 or 1000. I think it's 1000. And peachy, nah, that's an honest response. Or the only one that I could think of at the time.
