I would actually like her to give back the pearls. I would also like her to get back that necklace that was meant for her, but Logan gave to Luke to give to Lorelai because he didn't think to get his fiancee a Valentine's Day present.

Since the spoiler says both Lorelai & Rory are reminded of who Luke has been to them, that assumption seems to be wrong in this case.

There have also been plenty of times when Lorelai did know best, as in knowing that Rory was never, ever going to cut it as a "cas" dating kind of gal.

The way Lorelai has been damaged in some people's eye they may never believe her, but if it's goon enough for a fictional judge then it's good enough for me

I can see why people thought that. I saw it clear as a bell, the first time I watched it. notoutforawalk answered first - and with a better memory of one interview and the ep numbers - thanks. ASP didn't plan it. It was there, from the very beginning, and it took her a few episodes to recognise it - with hubby's help.

That's actually where authentic writing leads. A good author sets up characters and lets them act naturally - and sometimes things happen that weren't planned, just like in real life.

ASP didn't plan a bunch of things, and some of her plans changed. No doubt it's the same with DR. Does anyone seriously believes that he'll write the same story if it ends in s.7 as he will if there's a season 8?

Luke is not a Valentine's Day guy, Lorelai knew this and if she wanted change then tell him!

Plus He doesn't have to buy her love.

did anyone think that maybe the reason Lorelai struggles to write the letter is because of all the crap that happened between them? He refused to include her in his life with April, and now he needs her for one of the biggest events in his life? Wouldn't you, if you were in Lorelai's position, feel a bit used? Him now needing her after all this time? Having to drudge up all the painful memories? I knwo I would be a little hesitant...

but maybe that's just me.....

Face it, that whole business of both necklaces will go the way of so many GG events - there's the sign post up ahead! - into the twilight zone.

Some day we should make a list a seemingly important events that were never mentioned again.
