Merry Fisticuffs is being repeated on January 16 as predicted.

micfall can confirm it though. (I had it on my LJ account for the past 6 or so hours to see if anyone had picked up on it and taken it anywhere else but they didn't.)

ETA: If you've got a query about the title go to my LJ account (link below) the GG scheduling post there has a link to what the title refers to.. I'm off to bed.

I guess it's now official that "Merry Fisticuffs" is following the repeat of "knit People, Knit!", thanks.

Great American funny man W.C. Fields used to say "I'd rather be dead than in Philadelphia" as a knock on Philly being a pale shadow of NYC. On his headstone, it said "On second thought, I'd rather be in Philadelphia" or something along those lines.

Strange title. The only connection the show has ever made with Philadelphia is that Jess lives there and somehow I can't imagine Jess figuring into the 7.13 storyline. Maybe it is just that everyone would really rather be somewhere other than a hospital - who wouldn't? Although, I'm sure there must be more to the title than that.

I saw it an hour ago on your LJ, Nadine, but was rudely interrupted by work and couldn't bring it over here ... then when I came to post it some minutes ago, I saw that the news had already broken. Oy, so much excitement. (Haven't had time to read the title reference yet, though.)

Thanks for that. I'm sure Richard would rather be in Philadelphia than dead. That's the reason for the title. His collapse was probably a very close call ....

W. C. Fields (January 29, 1880 – December 25, 1946) was an American comedian and actor. Fields created one of the great American comic personas of the first half of the 20th century—a misanthrope who teetered on the edge of buffoonery but never quite fell in, an egotist blind to his own failings, a charming drunk; and a man who hated children, dogs, and women, unless they were the wrong sort of women.

This characterization was so strong that it was generally identified with Fields himself as well as the characters he portrayed in films and radio. it has been shown that Fields was married (and subsequently estranged from his wife), financially supported their son, and loved his grandchildren.Click
A man who comes across as hating dogs, kids, women but in the end it's the total opposite - mmmhhh well sounds kind of familiar

Thanks, micfall and gossip.

"Philadelphia", huh? Now we really need that episode description. Oy.
