And according to ratings and critics during Season Five, so did alot of other people.
I liked it when they were friends. I don't like it now.

At least when L/L was together they were other scenes and stories with Lorelai to be enjoyed. Now, not even Rory stories is worth much. The grandparent has been almost MIA. Michel? Deos he still work fulltime at the DF? Sookie... The Townie and Stars Hallow too are almost MIA. Now the stories are almost one note.
They could've still included the townies and the diner when they focus on Luke, but instead they chose to make his story all about April/Anna/Luke dating/TJ and Liz. Part of Lorelai and Rory's story has always been away from Stars Hollow, and now Luke's is too.

As for Rory, they've given her shi**y storylines, period. They don't seem to be interested in her and the actress is not pushy enough to do anything about it.

I'm not deluded by the show but I must admit that, even with the L/C thing going on, they could have kept some things - like including the townies in the diner scenes.
As for Rory: she hasn't had a decent storyline so far. I agree.

And since it's Xmas on monday: I give you all my best wishes for a Merry XMas and a Happy New Year.

See you after x-mas or even in 2007.

I think the relationship has basically ruined the show that we all used to like a lot more.
Either way you look at this, I don't really like it. One way it ruins the bit of Chris's character that I still find myself liking. But if he doesn't know about Richard, it makes Lorelai's realization/epiphany less credible, imo. She needs to base it on how both guys are acting. I want this to be less of an "i'm in love with Luke" and more of an "I'm not in love with Chris." but unless Chris knows what's happening, her coming to that conclusion wouldn't be right.

And Chris being ruined for LL's sake? I wouldn't really see it like that. He can never droop to below WBB's status to me. And even so, it's not like Luke and Lorelai, especially Luke, weren't sacraficed last season just in order for a CL hook up to have a shard of sense to it. This works both ways. And for Chris to look a bit like the guy he always used to be wouldn't be destroying his character, imo, it would be making him more in character. But that only works to a certain extent. If DR takes this too far, showing Chris being cold and heartless, which he isn't, I'll probably be upset about that too.

All I know is that I really want Chris to know that Richard's in the hospital, maybe he doesn't know how bad it is, so he takes his time getting there. Maybe he does know how bad it is and how worried Lorelai is, but in his anger he just can't deal with that now too. He'd be too focused on his own anger, which everyone's been guilty of at some point in the real world. Maybe he is at the hospital off somewhere sulking, not stepping up maybe until he realizes what Luke does. But I don't want this all to be lost with CL because of something Chris didn't even have a chance to decide upon. That's not fair to Chris. He doesn't deserve that.

I don't know if it is so much that the writers aren't interested in Rory or that AB is not pushy. I stand by my earlier assessment that she just doesn't care what her storyline is as long as she isn't worked to death. IMO she isn't your typical actress and her private time is what she values at this point in her career, especially with this show.

Well so far I am in denial you can say I am going with the spec that Chris went off to sulk and turned off his cell so he doesn't know about Richard's condition. I mean the only episode summary we have is MA's Mr Broackback mountain

At this point in her career, she is "starting" her career. She's not a 70 year old, winding down. And if this show is so burdensome, then she shouldn't be on it, which may very well be the case next season. The way the writers are writing the character, I can see why she'd think that there's no interest on their part, anyway. No interest on their part; no interest in their lack of interest on her part. The End.

and who cares where Gigi is.....she´s not important for this SL....

IMO it would be more credible if Chris knows about Richard, how can he be expected to be there if no one calls or tells him?

Whether he's off with Gigi or at work it doesn't matter at some point he needs to find out.

Where Gigi is is also a good question but before Paris she was MIA so maybe Chris' mother or the nanny, or as other said Lorelai is looking after her, she is the new mommy LOL so maybe she leaves Gigi with Sookie or Michel LOL?

Capt' preschool is likely also.

I miss the L&L diner scenes also, with any luck the will change in the coming couple of eps when Luke asks for the letter. I also miss the townies, they got better in ep 9 I hope we get more in 11-12 and after 13.

You seem to imply that she should be "fighting" for a better storyline when probably this is her last season on the show. She has been on this show for 7+ years and is probably so over it that it really doesn't matter how she is written, at least to her. She may not be 70. but the show is "old" by tv standards and as long as she is doing her job, performance-wise, why should it matter to her? She's not the writer nor the producer and actors don't often get to dictate their storylines anyway.

TA. And once Lorelai is back in the diner everything will get better....

IMO Lorelai´s epiphany will start in 7.11 when she meets Luke/April and writes that letter....Chriss not being there in 7.13 is just the final nail in the LC coffin....finally

Excuse me? It should matter to her because she should have pride in her work. She should be thinking about this as 1) an audition for the next exciting, new opportunity in her life and 2) about all the years she's put into this character and how it is *her* responsibility to stand up for that character. To care about that character. If she doesn't care, who will? Not the audience. Not these writers. This is not ASP, who would force it out of her. There are thousands of young women who would trade places with Alexis Bledel in a second. If she doesn't realize what fortune has given her and pisses it away, then she deserves not to be successful. The money isn't going to last forever. Not these days. She's no Warren Buffet or Bill Gates. I'm surprised that people think it's okay to walk through life acting like you don't have to do your best anymore because you've already gotten yours!

Yup, I agree. I think we'll start to see some mini-realizations in eps. 11, 12 and 13 up until the big realization in ep. 13. There has to be things that she notices and comes to terms with, even if she's trying to fight and ignore them, that lead her to finally seeing everything in ep. 13. I want most of it to be about Chris, and their relationship and her feelings towards him. As far as Luke, I just want her to stop pretending that she doesn't care and acknowledge in her own mind who he was to her and that there's still something she feels there. She doesn't have to determine exactly what it is, but I bet she'll start to feel something between them, especially in ep. 13.

She was in Stars Hollow constantly during Season 4 when she didn't have a life of her own and I thought that they over did it. Now she has her own life set up at Yale so she doesn't have to come home as often.
