Probably!
The top three for GG could mean, that people record the show, but don't watch it now, waiting for the good news for L&L.!
Maybe it's the best way? I think: to watch the L&C episodes later, knowing, everything is OK with L&L?
The shuttle?

What I don't get is how can it be a % over last year if Heroes and Studio 60 are new this year, or is it a % increase over the start of the season?

This is an explanation from Nadine, (credit gossipcomm):

".... it basically takes into account the TIVO users and anyone recording the shows for later viewing (with the system they can go up to 7 days hence the +7) so Studio 60 has the highest increase of viewers when TIVO and other recording devices are included into the statistics."

I understood it to be an averaged increase of viewership between live and recorded/tivoed viewing. Meaning, on average, when comparing to viewers watching live, GG had an extra 7.9% viewers who watched the show later via various methods such as Tivo. I don't think the numbers are comparing this and last year or comparing beginning/end of season timeshifted viewers. But, I don't really understand much about these things, lol.

Neilsen uses same day viewing for the ratings - whether at time of airing, or shifted up to a set hour (I forget the exact hour).

Top timeshifted programs probably reflects the type of audience those programs attract more than overall popularity. Studio 60 isn't doing terribly well in the ratings, but it's the number one timeshifted program. That doesn't call for changing the airtime so much as it reflects demographics - financial (households with TIVOs and similar subscriptions) and audience type - I don't know if Nielsen dabbles in psychosocial analysis, but there's a mix of 2 or 3 types in that list, all characterized by excessive audience devotion. These are viewers who bother to TIVO when they're busy, not all those shows are in terribly competitive timeslots.

Oh I get it now, it's the increase in the number who watch it later (I must be going blonde) so it's increase from the number of "original" viewers so if 4.81 million watch GG 7.10 and 9.7% increase means about 466,000 more watch it later.

ETA - I guess the advertisers don't like it 'cause with Tivo the ads can be skipped easy.

Well we got the ep 13 title yesterday which considering most have gone on holidays now is pretty good.

I bet nothing big until the 2nd week of Jan when production should re-start and the next ep descriptions may come out around Jan 5.

So, I think these are the upcoming storylines

7.11: Santa's Secret Stuff
1) At some point Luke asks Lorelai to write a letter for him/Lorelai & Rory reminisce about what Luke means to them
2) Lorelai decides to have a "Christmas after Christmas" celebration as a new family/the Haydens and Rory are in the CS talking about traditions
3) A storyline involving Gil and his son, who sings "I wanna be sedated." (Probably includes LZ)

7.12: To Whom It May Concern
1) Christopher reads the letter while Lorelai's out of the house, and he gets angry.
2) A storyline involving a Judge (probably the Luke/April/Anna custody fight)
3) Lorelai comes over to baby sit and Davey gets really excited because she brings him a gift. (Maybe Sookie appears before a judge?)
4) Not necessarily a storyline, but at least a scene: Richard collapses during a lecture
5) Possible "kinda funny" death.

7.13: I'd Rather Be In Philadelphia
1) Dr. Leibowitz, Luke, Lorelai, Christopher, Emily, Rory & Logan are at the hospital (ironically, no word on if EH is in this ep)
2) Possible "kinda funny" death

7.14:
1) Rory's going to develop a crush on the hot young economics professor brought in to temporarily replace an ailing Richard.
2) Storylines involving "Christy," "Mrs. Cannold," "Mr. Cannold"
3) Possible "kinda funny" death

Also, at some point
1) Lane delivers
2) We see Lucy again

I have been speccing that Luke takes Lorelai aside when he runs into her and Rory in the store and asks Lorelai for the letter then which then causes Lorelai and Rory to reminisce about what Luke has means to them.

Good summary Capt'

Plus IMO even if C&L are over at some point in ep 13 it might not be until ep 14 when anyone else finds out?

or other spec if Chris leaves early in ep 13, and Lorelai breaks down about losing Chris and now maybe her father. Does she tell Luke or Emily or an unconscious Richard?

OT - I just got to see the last ep of Boston Legal (before the break) and Kathleen Wilhoite (Liz) was great I wish she had more to do on the show except pop out a baby just in time for L&L to have a cute scene.

Again, I was going on about GRAVITAS. Which, again, Milo had to do time and time again on GG via ASP's love of multiple takes. The Pursuit of Happyness may be pablum soon forgotten, but Will Smith with his sheer GRAVITAS abilities alone. Elevates a crap film into something viewable. Again, hate Milo on your own time, but I like the guy. Always have.

I think that some R/L fans feel the same about MV that some L/L fans feel about DS. No matter what they do, it won't be good enough because they hated their character on GG so much.
