Maybe I haven't check iTunes for the podcast since last week, it must have came down last night (about 8 hours ago) my time 'cause there has not been enough time this morning.

eh, do you guys want the part about Milo?

ETA: Never mind, I'm working on it. It are, like, 4 sentences, so it's not a lot of work (not that I mind work, ya know).

In a twisted parallel, or personality flip, though - her fiance George/Luke is really more like Chris - newly wealthy, worships her, like to splash his money around, her family thinks he's swell. And Dexter/Chris, the ex, is really more like Luke - a regular Joe.

I don't think we were meant to compare the characters though, just the situation - delivered in DR's characteristic unsubtle way. Hitting us over the head, showing a bride with a cancelled wedding, and an ex who steps in and marries her.

That's how I saw it anyway. There are similarities, but it's not literal.
Just to set things straight, Jimmy Stewart did not play George Kittredge, Tracy's nouveaux riche fiance. He played Macaulay Connor, the writer who was covering the wedding for Spy Magazine. John Howard played Kittredge. Cary Grant was C.K. Dexter Haven, the former husband and wealthy blue blood.

Amy Sherman-Palladino and Warner Bros., for failing to make a deal to keep her on "Gilmore Girls." The series badly misses its creator and key voice, and Sherman-Palladino didn't help matters by blowing the show up on her way out the door by splitting up Luke and Lorelai and having Lorelai sleep with Christopher.

Correct, and Stewart won his only Oscar for playing Connor.

Thanks for the podcast transcript, lorelaisgirl.
I'm waiting for season eight news (yes/no), that the new year might bring.

Has somebody posted it already?

Nielsen has released a boatload of statistics looking back at the year that was 2006. If you want to know what the top 10 movies, digital music downloads, or cited Wikipedia entries, they've got it.
What I found most interesting was the comparison of the rankings for the top 10 regularly scheduled television programs and the top 10 programs that viewers time-shifted with a PVR, VCR, or other device. Not surprisingly, many of the shows on the live list are reality-based shows such as American Idol, which become stale if you don't watch them right away. The time-shifted list, features a lot of shows with lower ratings, many of which appear to be on the CW network. I guess time-shifters skew young?
Anyway, without further ado, here are the two lists:

Top 10 TV Programs - Regularly Scheduled - 2006 Rank Programs Network % of Homes in U.S. (Rating)

AMERICAN IDOL-TUESDAY FOX 17.7
AMERICAN IDOL-WEDNESDAY FOX 17.2
DANCING WITH THE STARS ABC 12.7
CSI CBS 12.0
DANCING W/STARS RESULTS ABC 11.4
NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL NBC 11.1
CSI: MIAMI CBS 10.3
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ABC 10.2
HOUSE FOX 10.0
DEAL OR NO DEAL-MON NBC 9.8
WITHOUT A TRACE CBS 9.8

Top 10 "Timeshifted" Primetime TV Programs - 2006 % Increase Rank Programs Network in Viewership

STUDIO 60 NBC 10.9
HEROES NBC 9.1
GILMORE GIRLS CW 7.9
AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL CW 7.7
30 ROCK NBC 7.5
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS NBC 7.5
NINE, THE ABC 6.7
SUPERNATURAL CW 6.7
KIDNAPPED NBC 6.6
ONE TREE HILL CW 6.6
SMALLVILLE CW 6.6

Year we saw some of that before Mag, the time shift part, it means more people this season are watching later that they did last year.

What I don't get is how can it be a % over last year if Heroes and Studio 60 are new this year, or is it a % increase over the start of the season?

So I guess for new shows it's from their first aired ep to the last before Dec 17?

OT - Cool the shuttle just landed!
