ETA: Ok, taking a breath and stepping back from the aggravation. I still think my spec about the TA being a way to go back to Rory's questioning her future storyline could work. It could easily be a harmless teacher type crush. They happen all the time and don't mean anything. But her interest, innocent as it is, could lead to discussion with him and there is where my earlier spec would fit in.

This is the same guy that had Logan "Brokebacking" last season. Until there's some solid proof that's what this is I'm not worried, not a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if he read the casting notice and jumped to this conclusion. Maybe The DSR gave him the sides, or access, but with the way that man hords info, and wants to control things, I doubt it.

Well, I get that it's just a silly TA crush and that nothing's going to grow from it (well I hope as much). Logan's the one to stay.

Still, what's the point of this storyline? How does it further Rory's journey? It sounds like yet another detour to Boring-Ville and she'll come out with ziltch.

Remember how she made new friends this year? Yeah, like that storyline...that propelled her journey...NOT.

isn't a crush something unplanned though? it won't be like she sits down and makes of list of what happened in the last month and what she can do to possibly make things more difficult or complicated.

i gotta say, i'm kinda happy that DR has forgotten about PA and the troubador if this is the kind of storyline he gives characters when he finally remembers that they exist.

I think they are giving Rory every college experience the writing staff has had over the length of their own college careers condensed into one season.

Don't apologize--I share your frustration.

Earlier, I specced to Genki that they'd be no Rory SL, just some Rory scenes and maybe some Rory eps. However, they have to use KAB somehow, so, absent a true SL, we get one ep tidbits like her freak-out that lead nowhere.

That spec is looking good.

Lorelai: it's set up she & Chris split up
Luke: custody fight, plus involvement with Emily in 7.13
Chris: splitting up with Lorelai
LZ: having twins

Nothing has been set up for Rory. Maybe Marty, but RL go to Europe together and are back by 7.11--a 0 ep arc
