Genki, we haven't had a Rory SL this year. Some Rory eps, but not really a SL. She misses Logan, Logan's back. She jealous of Bobbi, resolved by ep end. Freaking out about her future, never heard from again. Writes bad article about Logan, resolved before Lorelai arrives. We have no idea if the Marty SL has been resolved or not--but apparently Rory goes to Europe w/Logan.

And we really have no spoilers going forward for Rory. Except for Marty, no Rory SL has been set up. So I'm betting we don't get one. I spec we get Rory scenes and some RL eps (like 7.05 & 7.08), but no real Rory SL. She'll finish school, react to Lorelai's SL, maybe have to deal with Marty, but nothing interconnected from ep to ep.

On the other hand, it might force her to put things in perspective or in order. From being uncertain and conflicted and not quite knowing what to do with her life, we might see her taking more concrete steps towards some career path (again, in light of the dreams she may have shared with Richard before...the writing, travel, and all that). And Logan being there to support her regarding Richard might contribute to her seeing him as a "for the long haul" boyfriend, and not just as a college boyfriend.

See, if not positive repurcussions, then at least her storyline can move along...

I think Chris has shown redeeming qualities, too, over the years and this season.

I have been thinking that Rory's mini-storylines get resolved too quickly. FOr example, I wondered how she could be so pissed at Lorelai and then just "over it". How she could be freaking about the future and then... I think the implosion/explosion spec is an interesting one. I think she could use a cathartic vent. (Or at least, I know I could.) It does seem like all these stressful things, both large and small, she has just sort of decided she is over. It could be an interesting juxtaposition to the last time all the little things broke her back. How does the NAILorelai react? How does the NAILogan react? And how do the grandparents and parents react to her vent? That is some drama I would like to see. That would be a great mini-break cliffhanger. (Heh. We haven't even made it through this hiatus and I am already worrying about the next break. Is it any wonder that I can't stay out of the spoiler threads?)

eta: secret, I don't think it will take the form of another "breakdown". Just one of those moments that everyone has throughout life; where life sucks, it is all too much, and you freak out on the world around you. (See Rory in Mr. Medina's classroom.) It will be cathartic for her and get some of the crap out on the table. And because she won't take to the seas (illegally) this time, it will force the people around her to actually deal with the issue, not the result. (Does that make sense? I am not sure I am explaining it well.)

I think you've given more thought to Rory in this one post than the writers have all season.

It was in the casting notice for episode 11 and Jimmy Bennett was cast in the part (as per the first post).

I can imagine Rory doing this. And her "breakdown" in 7.07 is more like a catharsis, too, a college senior moment of sorts, quite different from what happened to her at the end of S5.

I was responding to gb and genki's specs about Rory "exploding" (or is it imploding?).

I think Lane's twins will pop up in 7.12. It would provide a big contrast to Richard collapsing.

Rory's outburst in Mr. Medina's classroom was great. And remember that she started the episode freaking out because she was behind everyone, but at the end she seemed more secure?

I have a feeling the writers/tptb have accomplished exactly what they intended.

I agree, I don't mind he is now rich, it's just how he is acting some of the time.

Also is it THEIR money now they are married or HIS and what will happen with the divorce. While I think Lorelai should get what she deserves I doubt she will take it anyway. Also I'm amazed she has not been given a new car and other stuff yet, maybe it will happen in ep 11-12-13 and we just haven't got the spoiler yet. I mean she drives a 10yo Jeep, time to update IMO.

My money is after ep 7.13 now, 13 looks like it will be a Gilmore event and not much room for Lane. That being said it could be 12 and Luke is at the hospital on some baby related thing, why is another question?

Luke has his hands tied in 12 with April and the court case.

Actually as of right according to the spoilers, there's 4 different storylines wandering around in episode 12. Is that almost a record for the most storylines in one episode? Then again that's what happens when you haven't watched in a while, it just seems like a hell of a lot.
