Apparently, 'JJs' - whether self-identified or labelled by others - are suspect if they dare make a post about Rory and/or Logan that simply doesn't agree with many of the self-identified Sophies on this thread.

hey i tried to actually post about the show but apparently rory's on again off again crisis is not interesting to sophies, bb, jjs, or the unaligned.

genki, I think it was you who posted in an old thread that you feel like Rory has some bottled anger. IA. I feel the same. There is something off with her. Her article, letting herself be involved with Marty's deception for no good reason...As she said in ILP, she is still processing things and is "quite the compartmentalizer". Now she lost her new friends and will have to deal with her grandfather illness. So I expect to see her exploding at some point.

The point was received by the poster I was responding to.

Talk all about the bridesmaids and alcoholic Logan, you want. It's one of the weaker arguments - especially the "drinking" since a lot of the posters on this thread claim to drink and then post. Perhaps all the drinkers can join Logan in AA.

As for the "JJs," please don't pretend that you're not a self-proclaimed one. Didn't you just recently claim that you were "proud" to be a JJ in response to someone else in your "group?" Or are you going to spin that (are you dizzy yet?) to say that you are really NOT a JJ and actually are a Sophie? Seriously

Rory's strikes me as impossible to spec right now, because it's so on again off again - kind of like the infamous Emily announcement and other black holes.

gb, I think she will implode adn I am afraid for her. That sort of repression is not healthy. Rory should be at peace with herself but she isn't. She hasn't dealt with the rift with her mother, she hasn't dealt with the rocky relationship with her father. She's basically been avoiding everything that hurts too much to think about for a couple of years now and I wonder when its all going to come to head. I hope logan is there to guide her through it.

I agree. And I recall DR saying that Richard's health crisis will affect ALL the girls (Emily, Lorelai, and Rory) in some important way. I would love to see the three bonding and supporting each other through this. As to how it might affect Rory's storyline specifically, I'm not sure. I only know that Rory shares a special bond with Richard--they have such a shared love for books, travel, culture, and such...so she would be affected emotionally, for certain. Maybe Richard would express some "dying"/"deathbed" desire to see Rory fulfill certain dreams that they've shared with each other. This will spur or renew Rory's thoughts and uncertainties about her future career and her relationship with Logan. Maybe Richard would express some desire to see his daughter and granddaughter truly happy, and that spurs on some contemplation on both girls' parts. (I know I've watched too many deathbed scenes in my life. And Richard isn't even dying, heh.)

I liked Dean, then her "Bad Boy" Jess, back to Dean was a BAD idea but she got him out of her system. So now she is good with Logan and I wish them the best.

I don't hate Rory/Logan either - they are an entirely different couple from a different generation. Their issues are nothing like L/L's, so it's ridiculous to say one is better than the other. I certainly wouldn't compare my relationship with my husband to the one between my parents. BUT I do hate Chris. And I'm not going to apologize for that or try and be Little Miss Sunshine about the character. He stands for everything I despise in the male gender. And I think the writers know that alot of viewers feel that way and they want them to feel that way. The characters are written to invoke some sort of passion, whether it is love or hate - SOMETHING that keeps the viewers watching.

I have a feeling the writers/tptb have accomplished exactly what they intended.

I've brought up Rory's staccato, shortshrifted, unresolved, incoherent "storyline" a number of times. In fact, it's all part and parcel of the "screentime" discussion. However, many people, here, only want to discuss "the suckiness of L&C" and "the wonder of Luke". What's too bad about what's happening here is that the writers are simply shortchanging Rory, and I actually think that since AB doesn't speak up and LG is so vocal, they overlook AB's character to the detriment of the basic core of the show. ASP cared about both characters and gave them equal time. The current writers have have gone off the freeway and headed down some off-ramp to navelgazingville.

I hope Logan can get what's wrong with her, because she seemed to confuse him a little the last episodes.

I am sorry I missed your post secret.... I think you are right but I have a feeling that she will likely a) turn to logan b) bottle it up. I don't see it forging rory/lorelai/emily closer together. There are too many alarm bells that this will affect rory in a negative way with little positive repurcussions. I get a sense that this will be the straw that broke the camels back and she's just gonna let it all loose and I don't see lorelai or emily handling it well. That's why I want logan to be the one to hear it cause I think he may take it better...but I doubt I will get what I want. I never get what i want (not since season 5)

It's a discussion not an argument. Harking back to the Palladinos' comments (don't have the exact article handy) about Logan being inherently unstable but having something that attracts Rory - and it could last a very short time or it could last 50 years.

That resonates with the 'grounds him/teaches her to fly' theory. And his drinking is an honest part of that discussion. If we were allowed to have that discussion.

But you've just proven my point.

I believe I was responding to a 'non-self-proclaimed JJ' but isn't this getting silly?

Not that anyone cares - but I actually don't deserve to be called a JJ. And I'm not a shipper kind of viewer. In fact, I'm not a "shipper".
