I’d like to remind you all that this is the main Gilmore Girls spoiler thread, and as such, posters from various shipper groups are free to post here, so if you see someone saying something that you don’t like about “your” favorite character or couple, don’t start fighting with them on this thread, and don’t go into a Gilmore Girls shipper thread if you don’t like the couple that the shipper thread is for. | Thanks caf I just feel the town has been hit and miss for the last couple of seasons, it's not just DSR but it's been worse with him. We've also had scenes cut with the townies from some eps. I really hope we get a lot of the missing scenes on the DVD, who knows maybe some extended eps like they did for Grey's Anatomy Season 2. | Thanks for the new thread! Craig, the ribbons were just picking sides and I feel they experienced Jess as this troublemaker that just needed to leave. I am trying to think of an example that shows that the town also got involved and spoke out while trying to solve something that was hard for another townie on a more emotional level. Like with Jess just trying to kick him out and well not really dealing with this and thinking of him as Luke nephew. Luke and the funeral of his uncle took some extra convincing of Lorelai of some townsmen (I always thought this was implicated, if not they were still hard to convince for Luke and all said no first). ETA I honestly believe Miss Patty thought she was doing the right thing by covering for Lorelai and her drunken June 3rd speech, because she (and well the rest of the town I guess) thought Luke would not be very happy about Lorelai talking about personal Issues between them in that matter. I don't think they ever realised what sort of troubles they were in or maybe didn't even want to know or get involved in. Okee, gonna get me some sleep, later all! | Maybe it is because I worked 40 hours a week, while attending school, but I have always found the idea that 300 hours of community service was so hard to be odd. Even with a full time job at the DAR, it seems like it wouldn't be asking too much to expect 20 hours a week of community service. That would put her finishing in about 15 weeks, two months ahead of schedule. And as I said last night on the LL thread, I found ASP's interview to be disingenuous in the extreme. I didn't however find it to be insulting to the fans in particular though. What is Jen said about Brad? Missing a sensitivity chip? | Two hours a week for 15 weeks is 30 hours not 300. Maybe it was a typo and you meant 20. I agree that with her not in school it wouldn't be too much to ask. But as a full time student at Yale 20 hours a week, much of it manual labor, would have been a lot. ETA: I see that you did mean 20 I think that the point was never that it was too much for Rory to handle. It was a question of was it too much for a first time offence. Also, there was a question of having a job flexible enough to work around the amount of community service she would have to do. | I actually meant since she wasn't in school. I never got the impression she intended to attend in the fall. (And you caught that at the same time I was correcting it. | There was no impression that she intended to attend. The context of our discussion included that idea that had she attended school it would have been very difficult for her to do her community service. It was a question of her slothliness and likeability last year. __________________ I need something toph. | |||
