Well, we had some scene with R/L and by the way she acted and talked to him, I never had the impression that she had a hard time with this important figure being gone. Contrariwise.

And sure he wasn't just a coffee supplier, it was only an example, more the kind of nice neighbour guy or stuff, who's there when you need him, you really like him, but when he moves you just convince your new neighbour to do the same stuff for you, and although you promised to stay in touch and you really wanted to first place, you just don't. And if you meet him again somewhere, you're really happy to see him, and you promise to stay in touch this time, to do it really, but you end up not staying in touch again. Just because - and despite you like him - he never grew that important to you that you remember staying in touch or staying in touch is more important than all the other stuff going on in your life.

She does care for Luke, but not the same way she does her family, but she cares, he was always a good friend to the girls. "poor sad Luke", and i know there's other times.. like in ADFKT when she's worried cause they made Luke look sad, show that she does care a bit, and the Rory/Luke scene when they talk about the accident and jess... But I really doubt that Rory will list any of this off. I think it'll just be more that he was always there and always cared and fed them and everything.

It'll most likely be Lorelai who's having to face the most things here that she has tried to forget, Rory'll just be there to help her along and making her face the memories.

I wonder if Lorelai knows about the fight at that point (or anyone for that matter) it's looking good for L&L but it still not gonna be smooth running by a long shot.

So the character reference letter story begins in 7.11. And if Lorelai and Rory recall what/who Luke has been to them, it'll be even easier, though probably heart wrenching, for Lorelai to write.

If this is what the hiatus is about, all this abundance of info and pics, I say bring it on.

maybe writing the letter finally opens up wifey's eyes about everything he has done for her when they were friends and she remembers why she fell in love with him in the first place
