Chris was being insensitive which has led to a lot of the current Chris/Rory discussion on this board. Wether it was intended or not, it really looked like he was saying, the heck with daughter 1, I'm all about daughter 2. And yes, I would expect them to have weekly dinners, not on screen, please as we've had way more then enoughof Chris as it is, but in passing comment. Why shouldn't Chris make an effort to see Rory? And if she's busy, it's his job as the parent, to try harder and accomodate her. I think that's the whole basic issue here, he's never been the grown up or the parent, he's never put himself out for her. Wether or not he and Lorelai stay together, it's time he did.
But when we didn't see Chris as much, there was some indication that he and Rory were in communication and were mending their relationship. Now, he sees her with Lorelai at FND, at home, and at Yale. Just like parents would with children.

lancer1993--I may be wrong, but I always got the impression that when Christopher asked, at dinner, or rather, suggested, and Lorelai turned him down, that was it (for then). Then later, as they're walking, and it started to rain all prettiesh like, and then they saw the church-- and it seemed tobe "fate" to Lorelai. So he must have suggested it again, and she agreed. I don't think they sought it out. Maybe Christopher did. But I don't think Lorelai was mulling it over, or looking for a church. Or maybe, I'm just supposed to see it this way, because taht's the way Rory was intended to see it too--- so she'd feel less left out. Maybe he just convinced her right there, at dinner, and then they sought out for a church... I guess we won't know. I just didn't think it happened that way, because of how lorelai explained it.

One thing I didn't like about the FND last week was almost always the girls sat on the couch together but now NO, in Parting Rory said something like "here take my seat" her did and hasn't looked back!

7.10 Fight scene - spec

CHRIS: [Shouting across the town square] Hey diner guy!

LUKE: What do you want 2 minute man!

[Ding ding the fight is on!]

(Let's leave aside the fact that L&C are now going to be looking for another house anyway.)

But, what are you expecting? For them to have a weekly dinner and for us to see that every week? What are you expecting once she graduates and moves heaven knows where, let alone the time she has to spare during the rest of this school year? Once she graduates and moves away, she's going to be communicating with *everyone* via emails and phonecalls -- Lorelai, Chris, Emily & Richard, you name it. I'm trying to figure out what you expect to see on screen between an adult child and her parent, when one actor won't even be on the show for more than a few episodes to prove that they have a relationship, despite her mother's issues with him. You know what's the real conundrum? People want to see more than they want to see, i.e., they want to see Chris gone but they also want to see -- before their eyes -- a healthy relationship between father and daughter despite the fact that these two characters are off on different paths and, literally, won't even be on set shooting.
My room was completely redecorated - paint, new drapes a revamped closet - the works, for my sister. I wasn't even asked.

I see my parents - at most - once a week. I don't even talk to them everyday. Life gets in the way. I, too, have no idea where people get this idea that there is actually time to spend "all this time" with their parents once they go out into the real world.

You could be right and as I have said it would have made the final scene of FT a BIG shock to a lot of the unspoilt.

I don't think Rory knows what a real dad is even like. Her best friend has a phantom dad, her school friend was raised by a nanny and then her already absent dad had to leave the country, another school friend's father was in prison. Jess's dad abandoned him when he was a baby, her current boyfriend's dad basically sucker punched her, and is otherwise mean and controlling and cold (he almost didn't even visit his only son in the hospital) and her mother left home to get away from her dad at a very young age. So really how Rory feels about fathers in general probably isn't that great. I never realized until I started writing this how poorly fathers were portrayed on this show.

That would be awesome if they showed them doing different takes of it.

Aw Geez Rory must be a real mess then victorialeigh I hope her current relationship with Logan and her mother stay stable 'cause it's gonna get really messed up again with the forth coming divorce.

ETA - lilmelodie well any stunt no matter how small (or stupid) needs to be planned and choreographed. I'd also love to see the set-up for the diner crash, maybe they'll have a season 7 stunts special on the DVD!

Sooo, watching now, just an FYI, Lorelai is WILLINGLY house hunting with Chris. Oh, and Chris can tell by her face that she doesn't want to move, so he says they'll stay in Star's Hollow. No jerk Chris yet. Also, I guess most of the specs were wrong too.

Maybe we won't see them fighting, we'll just see Chris giving in trying to make Lorelai happy. And then the one thing he thinks is a good idea (the vows thing)-- she just shoots down. Like she isn't trying at all. I thought there was gonna be a fight, but I guess there doesn't have to be, it still works. I feel bad for Chris. :S No one deserves someone doing the bare minimum in a relationship with them.

Maybe they "tweaked" the episode LOL

So why is Chris in such a "great" mood at the vows thing, he gives in to her and he has the problem?

ETA - Maybe the question should be WHY does Lorelai want to move, is the town giving her a bad vibe over Chris and her plans to get then to like him not working?

Huh. I totally thought she was coloring the spontaneity for Rory's sake. But maybe not. It was jus the impression I had when I watched it.

They obviously talk about kids too sometimes, and the LL scene, I think he's more pissed about that than anything.

Well the question I asked the podcast last week was cut off, I asked it Chris finds out Lorelai wanted kinds with Luke but now not with him, could this cause problems.

I'm saying YES!
