I think the only time Lorelai dressed Luke up was for Rachel. When they were dating and engaged she never did, at least not on camera. The first time they went to dinner at the Gilmore house, Luke was wearing jeans. When the DI made the cover of the magazine, Luke was the one that said I need to get new pants, she said he didn't need to. Mind you when they went to Rory's 21st birthday party, I think she must have picked out his clothes 'cause they matched hers so well but it was never mentioned.
The dressing down of Christopher is just to make him not stick out like a sore thumb, make him look more like he belongs in the town, I don't think she was trying to make him dress like Luke. I think it's hard enough for her to try and put Luke out of her mind, why would she want Christopher of all people to remind her more of Luke.

ETA The tv description from Global states: "Christopher and Luke get into a heated argument. Logan tells Lucy about Rory and Marty's past."

That description doesn't sound like they come to blows (unfortunately).

Lorelai dressed "down" Chris, because she didn't want him to look too chique for his date with Jackson, more like a townie, more like one of them, so he fits in at least from his lookings. She wants him to be liked. Had nothing to do with Luke.

Well I do have a database of every MLB game I've ever been to.

Did you know that on July 9th, 2000 there were only 35 games left to be played in Three Rivers' Stadium?

Or that May 30th, 2003 was Brad Radke Fishing Lure Day at the Metrodome?

Or that on May 11th, 1991 Steve Bedrosian retired the Tigers on 3 pitches in the 8th in the Dome?

Isn't fun even better when it's orginized?

The last MLB I went to was October 23, 1993 it was Game 6 of the World Series, Joe Carter hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to win. It just doesn't get any better than that.

I hope it's just how they worded it, unless they had a last minute edit and went with option 2, the less violent scene, wouldn't that be better for all involved or do people just want to see them fight?

hmm... I might actually prefer that better. i'd rather hear the guys' reasons, especially Luke, than just have Luke being called a violent barbarian yet again.

From the promo, it's pretty clear that it's not just going to be yelling. But I could see them yelling at eachother a lot before they start fighting and then the fight to be a rather quick thing that's broken up right away somehow.

Am I being selfish if I want both?

It's a confirmed spoiler that Luke and Chris get into a fistfight.

Lorelia never tried to change Luke to fit in with her parents world.... which goes to show (if she loves Chris)why would she try to change Chris to fit in the Stars Hollow world?...I just feel the writers are trying to say something on so many levels about the whole Chris/Lorelia marriage/relationship.
Good point wrenlyn. Lorelai didn't make Luke get all dressed up for that first FND in S5. It wasn't all about impressing her parents, or saving herself or Luke from embarrassment - because she was proud of him.

Her entire marriage to Chris so far has been Lorelai trying very hard to convince herself and everyone around her that's it's right.

Not that I want any guy to get kicked in his junk but in Chris case I'll make an exception!

IMO they will start with the yelling, up close and personal, then someone with have to throw the first punch!

I could so go for that. i'd really love to hear more of Luke/Chris's personal crap with eachother first before they really start punching. A few good insults at eachother would be great. Luke probably on Chris's parenting, and Chris on Luke's "diner guy" status and how he should stay away from his wife.

2 more days!
