In ep. 21 (Unto the Breach), the guide said that the townies are upset that they can't go to Rory's graduation. They (Babette, Patty, Kirk), etc talk about how they're not invited in Luke's and there's a town meeting about how they feel like they should be invited.

You know I've been thinking about this thread of when the townies are in Luke's discussing how upset they are not being invited to Rory's graduation. Even though Sookie and Luke aren't attending, it doesn't mean it's all out bad. I think they're trying to keep it surrounded more around the 'family' aspect. There might have been a certain amount of tickets distributed out and not enough for everybody else. I hope and don't think this has anything to do with the awkwardness of having LLC being around each other. LC is over, done with, he's only there for Rory's graduation. I want to see him high tail his ass out and go back to France where he belongs after this event.

Plus, the townies are going to throw a big party for Rory. I bet ya Luke is in charge of putting it together. I know it's sad Luke won't be there, but he'll do something special for her in this occasion. There's always been a place in Luke's heart for Rory and he hasn't forgotten that. Don't worry, they'll be okay.

I would like it better if Lorelai was pretending to be drunk, because Luke will not take advantage of her if she is really drunk. She could pretend to be drunk to see what Luke's reaction is and when she finds out that it is positive then they can move on to step 2.

Everyone, I am not sure if you all are trying to see what you can get away with here, but the same rules apply here as they do at the R/L thread. As I’m sure you all noticed, I warned the R/L thread of the constant and repetitive negative talk, especially regarding Lorelai, Rory’s mother. Granted, I never said that an appreciation thread is all about appreciating, because loving a couple is loving the good and bad times, and you can express your likes and dislikes of said couple and the characters involved, but there is a difference between that and all the constant and repetitive negative talk, even at a couple’s appreciation thread. Believe me, I understand bitterness and being upset over certain things, but take a step back and keep things in perspective. In addition, I know that L/L don’t exist in a vacuum, but there’s no need to constantly talk about Chris here and refer to him in derogative terms. NOT at the Luke/Lorelai spoiler appreciation thread. This isn’t the main thread for GG, as I’ve emphasized several times. So, as I have warned you guys here in the past when L/L were breaking up and the spoilers sucked for you and you were pissed as all hell, I am warning you again. There is a way to discuss negative and positive things for your couple, and I am pretty sure that all of you know how by now.

If Luke has time to plan it as a surprise and still get Rory and Lorelai there after they already think it's cancelled, I don't see how it could be the whether that's the reason for the initial cancellation. They'd just move it to someone's house or Patty's if that was the case.

Maybe it has more to do with Rory having to leave early or something, so Luke puts the party together much faster while Rory and Lorelai are doing their things?

If Luke plans this as a surprise, is it going to be a surprise to Lorelai, as well? If so, I can't wait to see her reaction to that. (Well, actually, I can wait, I don't want the end of the show to come any sooner).
