Well, if Rory has to leave quickly, maybe that's why Lorelai thinks she has to call off the party, but instead the townies just talk her and Luke into getting hitched since everyone's there already. Kind of like in Mamma Mia and something else that I'm forgetting at the moment.

Yep. Those "highlights" make me feel like I was on the right track with the end of season 4 thoughts.

I'm trying to stay clear of the S8 roiler mill. However, I think it's also possible that a slowdown of LL is an ironic consequence of the early season fan backlash. Concentrating more on the Gilmores and the town, more old school GG, less soap, less whirlwind romance. Maybe not. Just musing.

The DC's up, BTW. It's the town meeting, but it starts off with the very end of an LL talk/scene. You can't hear them at first, but Taylor starts the meeting and they separate, and Luke says that they'll see eachother later. Sookie and Lorelai talk about Luke for a second.
