I think that shot of the townies isn't when Lorelai's up there, because I swear I can see AB and LG behind Kirk.

yeah, you're right. That has to be from someone else's performance. I had convinced myself that the dark hair was Lane, but it's definitely LG.

ETA: new promo is up on cwtv.com, Rory also managed to tank a final apparently.

Yeah, it's totally the outfit LG was wearing on stage. That's why it stood out to me.

I'm curious to know how Lorelai goes from wishing Rory a happy graduation on stage to singing to Luke. Maybe Luke walks in late while she's just getting up there? Or he gets there right before she goes up?

Ok, I see Rory between Lulu and gypsy, and Lorelai behind kirk and a little to the left, but where does everyone see Luke? I see blurred people behind them. Which is Luke?
Much better promo than last nights, but maybe it is because I am so looking orward to the kareoke!

I was also thinking that the face we see when Logan asks for permission, might also be due to that fact that Rory might be getting married before her. Not that she doesn't want happiness for Rory, but because of Lorelai's failure to have the "it". She may also be afraid that Rory might jump at this because she has no real focus now without the job she wanted, or any possibilites.

I'm thinking that Logan comes to ask Lorelai for her permission before the karaoke night. It'll hit Lorelai big time that her one and only daughter could be getting happily engaged, possibly even happily married, before she does. So they go to the bar for karaoke night, Lorelai will see Luke, remember the Logan/Rory thing, and get very bold and sing her heart out.

That's what I think.

Definately. But then again, when we see so much goodies in yesterday's episode and nooothing of LL in the promos, it's simply quite depressing to see they don't even promote our fave couple.

Since they promoted L/L in the last episode, they're probably focusing on Rory in this one. Then again, Rory is the main focus of 7.21.

Anyway, we know Luke is at the karaoke bar, so I'm not worried.

Well it wouldn't make sense if he wasn't. Unless DR decided to scrap Lorelai singing altogether.

I was scared about that for a second, until I remembered how important the singing SL is to ep. 21, as well.

When they're first clapping in the Promo Lorelai is sitting at the table with Rory... Thats probably a scene of them clapping for Babette and Miss Patty (heh, Auf Wiedersehn goodbye!).

I'm predicting a long, Awkward silence when Lorelai is done her little number.
