i wouldn't mind if they cut the whole thing from both episodes.

It's not so much that Lorelai gave the advice. It's the fact that Luke listened to it. He let her in and trusted that it was good advice.

Now if it happens to be a L&L trip, I hope he doesn't forget the hotel/shower thing. Could be fun!! And dirty!!

It's not about the advice. It's about she still thinks Luke has no clue about her daughter.
But he still took the advice, and gave her free coffee and donut for that.

actually i think it was pretty good advice. luke may have learned a lot about being a dad but he's still pretty clueless about women...he is a man after all

I think it's good advice too. And I think it's very Lorelai-like advice.
What bothers me is the way she gives it. Especially the way she says 'Sure she is.'

If she said 'I'm sure she's exited and you'll have good time, but if I were you...' then I'm good.
But she didn't.
