You forgot "Lorelai has closure with Christopher". And they remain friends. Can't quite remember where I saw that before. It's happened so often, they tend to blur.

I was reading through the comments on the Ausiello Report, to his big revelation about Rory and Logan, and found this. Not sure if it was already posted, or if it's ok to post it here, so I'll delete it if it's not.

Puh-leeze, I´m so sick and tired of "Lorelai finally realizing how much Luke cares for Rory"....or her "closure with Dopey, but they´re still friends, yeah" crap.....

I think it's going to turn out to be a misunderstanding. Meaning I think that what Patty and Babette really meant to ask is if Lorelai singing that song to Luke means that they are back together and not if she had really meant them. I think Luke only catches snippets of that convo. Maybe they're at the Diner, it's really busy and Patty, Babette and Lorelai are whispering (or as soft as Babette can do).

I loved the DC, because it was so funny and well acted, besides being very realistic. I didn't care as much for the car shopping scene. I didn't like the evil look in Lorelai's eye at the end. It looked kind of mean, as if she didn't really care for Luke. I know I'm in the minority on this one, lol.

I agree I'd like to see Luke make the final decision about getting back together. I'm wondering if part of Lorelai's embarassment about the singing stems from Luke's reaction. I can see him being overwhelmed, especially in front of a crowd, and making a quick escape to "process" before any discussion. Then when he hears her deny it meant anything, he won't bring it up. It will probably be up to Lorelai to bring it up with him and explain how she really feels, a la the telephone scene in SGTDM. I agree with whoever speculated that maybe the kiss happens before the singing (even at the end of ep 19?) but one or both aren't sure/in denial/too scared/etc.

I agree about the evil look in Lorelai's eye in the car shopping scene, but figure I'll wait to see if it seems like Luke deserved it. After all, he's so totally wrong--I bought my last car based on a "feeling" and it worked out very well.

Don't you know? Luke and Lorelai's Love transcends mere sex. That's for wrong marriages to long time friends. As are ILY's.

But by golly, we'll just KNOW they are finally together forever because Luke is wearing the blue cap and Lorelai performed a drunken serenade. It's on in the subtext, people.

If you don't expect much for the finale, you just might be happy with what you get.

It all very much does remind me of the season 4 finale. Luke thinking there was a moment, the confusion with Jason around and her having to say that THERE was a moment and she is not taken. This time her having to make clear that she did mean it ...

And I don't care how many kisses, bed scenes, fake or non-fake weddings or whatever there have been with between Chris and Lorelai. Nope, the feeling of anticipation or the feeling of it being right was never there compared to L/L. Even though I was less frustrated about the SL as some ... I do feel that one kiss now between Lorelai and Luke will have a lot more impact and will feel much more KABOOM! than it did between Christopher and Lorelai.

Maybe Lorelai "takes it back" after finding out that the only reason Luke puts on the blue cap is because he lost the black one. Coupled with little reaction to her serenade, I'd take it back, too.
