So the DC is actually painful to watch, I can't bring myself to watch it more than once.

As for "taking it back" I'd bet anything that Luke overhears her telling Babette or Patty that it didn't mean anything. Why would she admit to the gossip queens that she's still in love with Luke if he doesn't react to her gesture? Though even with news of a season 8 it kinda bugs me that we're dragging this out until the very end. Maybe Luke is waiting on Lorelai's porch when she gets home from Rory's graduation party at the end of 21?

I can't say I'm a big fan of the DC with the sound on, lol. I kind of feel like Luke is being a bit.. hmm.. stand off-ish. More so than he has been in recent run ins with Lorelai. In the maze he was actually being quite chatty until Lorelai cut him off. In the diner though he kind of comes out and is less than interested in talking. And, to me, it seems like Lorelai doesn't understand that or know what to do with that so she decides it's best just to leave. Kind of leaving her to wonder if she should have ventured into the diner at all. I'm glad we know she tries again and calls Luke to go car shopping. But to me, Luke is a little off. He seems uncomfortable, therefore making Lorelai uncomfortable.

I was talking to one of my friends today who is unspoiled and not really an avid Gilmore fan, but she's watched it periodically this season (she's seen various episodes from previous seasons as well). She happened to watch HBM this past week and she told me that she's definitely watching the rest of the season because "when Luke and Lorelai talked in the maze, you could just tell they love each other and they're going to get back together soon."

So there is an outsider's perspective on the maze scene and it looks like it was conveyed the way it was supposed to be to the average unspoiled viewer.

That's funny, because I can't stop watching it.

Yes. Hoping the season and not series finale.

I liked the DC. I liked how Lorelai was mentally preparing herself to go in. Much like when you are supposed to meet the big boss for a promotion, just before you walk into his office, you tell yourself to say certain things or to not react a certain way, etc...

I also liked how they were both uncomfortable with each other and had to resort to making small talk (the weather...are you serious?!). And I think it's normal to be so awkward. I don't think it's Luke being stand-offish. I think he just wasn't prepared for her to come in. After all they're both still trying to find the right footing with each other.

I just thought he seemed uncomfortable, not standoffish. He smiled at her when he walked out of the kitchen. All of a sudden they're not on neutral ground anymore, and he's taken off guard, plus the nosey nellies are watching their every move. They both seem at a loss for what to say next, because they both know it's a huge step she's taking.

The look on her face when she's back outside seems to say "God, could that have been any more uncomfortable?".

First time is the hardest. Truthfully I wouldn't go back. I couldn't ask him for a favor either. She knows Luke and she wants his friendship back so good for her. That's a very strong woman.

I agree with you on both accounts. Although, I'm super-giddy about Lorelai going to the diner again

I really don't understand how L&L don't talk about the karaoke after the fact. Luke has to have some sort of reaction. I don't get it. It obviously doesn't happen at the very end of the episode since Logan comes to town once again, so what happens? Does Lorelai finish singing, realize exactly what she just did, know that she meant it but is afraid to admit it, run out on the bunch and avoid the diner again until Luke confronts her?! Because, seriously, I'm sick of L&L being dragged out, even though there is a season 8.

I love the awkwardness. I think I laugh more every time I watch it. They are both feeling stupid and for some reason it just makes it all that much more enjoyable for me.

That's the impression I got also. What did she expect? Did she think she could just walk in the diner and have Luke waiting with open arms? She caught him off guard. She should have told him in advance that she would like to go back to the diner.
From what I've seen and heard, she's messing with his head. I guess I'm just upset because from the episode description for 7.21, she hurts Luke, again.

Little rant over.

Luke is hurt.... Can you hurt people who don't care about you? I think, no. He cares about Lorelai, he always did... And she cares about Luke, but is confused, that telling him about it could be something inappropriate at this moment, after she did what she did, sleeping with Christopher and getting married.

Hmm, I think, they don't kiss before 7.21 or even 7.22!

That's my SPEC also.

Maybe for reasons unknown, (maybe the awkward night at the bar) Luke didn't go, maybe he does make the next move and waits for Lorelai to come home. Or better still maybe the Rory&Logan break up gets Lorelai to thinking what she wants and she goes to Luke, tells him what happened and then spends the night and th estart planning the party together?

BTW - I did ask Ausiello about Luke and the graduation, still waiting on an answer.
