Loved their interaction in the DC. There was something poignant about them trying to make small talk.
And I love that the La La La's have been back lately.

Thanks for bringing the 7.21 description over Alyss.
I can understand TPTB taking a bit of time to get LL back together, if they knew there's another season. But, I just hope that if there actually is a season eight, as it now seems more and more likely, that they know it's the last one and don't waste too much on showing how LL inch back to each other. They need to finally show them just suck it up and do it (commit) already, starting the latest, in 8.01.

Deep down she does mean it, but she can't let herself believe it means anything, other than a temporary lapse. She screwed things up royally, and he told her it wouldn't have worked anyway. They're just rebuilding their friendship, and she has no idea how he's feeling at that point, so it'll take some sign from him to show her there's a chance for them.

Maybe this is Luke getting his hopes dashed, rather than being hurt -- he realizes she has no idea how he feels, and looks for a way to show her. Then the party lands in his lap. Luke -- a man of action, not words.

This seems like a twist on their S4 dance, when neither knew exactly how the other felt.

Also consider the fact that the "overhearing" scene must take place early in the episode, because it's the day after the karaoke, which means this scene comes before E/R's party and the graduation day in the episode timeline. So hopefully there will be some sort of follow-up later in the episode.

Maybe Luke will confront Lorelai. Asking how she could sing to him the night before if it really didn't mean anything. Obviously she must sing directly at him. In 7.0 she intends for him to hear it. What does she expect him to think it means? But in 7.21 she takes it back? Eh..even if she doesn't think Luke overhears, she has to think he thinks she still has feelings. Ya know? lol. I'd like Luke to ask if she is just toying with his emotions and if she is, why? It seems unfair. Poor Luke. One minute he thinks things are okay and then the next.. boom.

Or, hey, maybe he just grabs her and kisses her. That'd work.

You know in every relationship that Lorelai has been in, we have seen the man make the grand gesture while Lorelai plays Ms. Passive. Things need to change. I am tired of seeing Lorelai drift around waiting for some guy to tether her. It's about time that Lorelai Gilmore decide what she wants and go after it. This time I want to see Lorelai pursue Luke.

LORELAI: Thank you. [exhales] So hows it going?

LORELAI: Oh really well. They Inn is really busy.

LUKE: Yeah I’ll bet.

LORELAI: And so how are you doing.

LUKE: Me, good, really good.

[still awkward between them]

LORELAI: Good.

LUKE: Yeah.

LORELAI: Um, it sure is warm outside.

LUKE: Yeah you know when I opened the diner this morning I remember thinking how warm it was.

LORELAI: Really!

LUKE: Yeah.

LORELAI: You know what maybe I should take this to go. To get back to work.

LUKE: Yeah okay let me just get you a cup.

LORELAI: It’s been really busy at the Inn.

LUKE: Yeah you said, there you go.

[Lorelai pours the coffee into the to go cup and Luke puts a lid on it.]

LORELAI: Oh great.

[Lorelai gets money to pay]

LUKE: Ah no I got it.

LORELAI: Thanks.

LUKE: Okay so I’ll see you around.

LORELAI: Definitely, I’ll see you around. Okay.

[Lorelai leaves]

Big fat chance for that to happen! She sings a freaking song and then says she didn't mean it (yes maybe it sounds like the ily to dopey). Luke will be the one to make the move once again.

I'm not sure how I feel about the DC. I hate awkwardness LoL but I so cannot wait for them to go car shopping!! SQUEE

And it looks like Kirk is a CIP... wonder if he knows the date of their last kiss, too?

ITA, Sassy. Lorelai needs to know what she wants and go after it, instead of waiting for it to come to her. When that happens, it always seems like she has the upper hand and can cast them off in a heartbeat because she wasn't as invested as they were because they came to her instead of her persuing them. Hopefully, as Luke said, things change

So in the DCC what happened to the spoiler where she sits and orders food, maybe after the fight she goes back and the last scene is Lorelai staying to eat?

The thing I hope happens in the karaoke thing is that Lorelai sees how hurt Luke is and mays this is her realization that he wants her back
