I think the fact that Luke is hurt means that there IS forward movement. Because we know that he's not going to let it go. It's guaranteed to cause tension between them.

If Lorelai is true to form and she's feeling stupid and embarrassed about her karaoke performance, then she'll probably seek validation of her fabulousness by being extra quippy with Christopher. That's her usual M.O. -- she never admits being stupid, she just avoids dealing with it by flipping the yammering switch.

Meanwhile, Lorelai is embarrassed about her karaoke serenade to Luke the night before, and Luke is hurt when he overhears her saying it didn't mean anything.
This is going to be hilarious!! Embarrassed Lorelai, think R&R! Hurt Luke? Who does hurt face better than SP? (Okay, maybe LG is as good but I am so over her SadFace that I don't ever want to see it again.) This is classic GG.

Oh, I would be hugely, royally, supremely p-o'ed if we weren't getting a Season 8. Since I've recently ecome a big believer in focusing on the positive, however, I say Bring. It. On.

And seriously? Think how much fun the last four episodes are going to be. When was the last time we were able to use that word in relation to L/L or Gilmore Girls in general?

I'm wondering if this is why we had conflicting spoilers about Luke being at graduation. Maybe when it looked like this would be the last season they pushed the L/L stuff a bit faster, but once they decided on another season they slowed it down a bit.

Hopefully things will be different now.

Perhaps. Like I said, I'm in for the ride and I'll take everything they throw at me. It sounds like a fun episode anyway and in my head he will have a rant at her about it. lol

I don't think it's that bad. I mean they just get back on track with their friendship and it's still fragile. Now she sings the song and reveals her still existing feelings to him and she knows or rather thinks he doesn't love her anymore. That could jeopardize the friendship and I think she is afraid about it. She wants him in his life and could lose him that way again.

I had the same reaction. I was totally reminded of R&R while reading the description and we all know how that ended. It looks like it's gonna be good.

I doubt that's going to happen. And even if it does, she and Luke aren't back together yet. So Lorelai's not technically doing anything "wrong." Lorelai is always manic when she's upset or embarrassed about something. If she's being reactionary, that's actually a good sign in a twisted way. It means that the song was significant.

My only problem with the description is that it says Luke gets hurt. Haven't they both been hurt enough?

So funny - it's the diner scene, and it's extremely awkward.

Lorelai hesitates before going in, then takes a deep breath and does it. Kirk tells her she can't have her old stool back, he's claimed it. Babette and Miss Patty are there, and do a double-take when she walks in. Very awkward between Luke and Lorelai; he asks if she wants coffee, and gives her a completely different mug. He asks how she is, and vice versa, and they talk about the inn, the diner and the weather. They both look uncomfortable, so she decides to take her coffee and go back to work.

Yeah, but it would be nice to think she's grown in at least one area of her life . . .

Well, yes. But this is their usual MO. When Luke gets hurt by Lorelai, he normally confronts her about it.

What's with all the song performances coming up? First Lorelai, now Emily and Richard. Would it be too much to ask to have Luke serenade Lorelai with that freaking guitar that has been in his apartment forever? I mean as long as everyone else is singing, why can we hear Scott?
