From what I've seen and heard, she's messing with his head. I guess I'm just upset because from the episode description for 7.21, she hurts Luke, again.

After their meeting in the maze, which was pretty open and friendly, maybe she thought going back into the diner would be the same. But, the diner isn't neutral ground, it's the site of so many shared experiences, both good and bad, and I imagine they'd have the same kind of stilted conversation if he showed up at Lorelai's house unannounced. I don't think she's messing with his head at all.

Just watched the DC....loved the awkwardness. However I was waiting for Lorelai to lean in to kiss Luke like she used...just out of instinct as she got up from the counter to leave. Now that would have been awkward, lol

I think theyll definetly kiss i 6.22 though, and MAYBE 6.21 if we're lucky

I love the DC. I especially like when Kirk commented on how "Lorelai's seat" was perfect because it guaranteed a lot of "face time with the boss." Of course!

I really like the way things are progressing. Some may not like that it's awkward between LL, but I feel like that's how it has to be at first. If we saw them comfortable with each other we would probably be saying, "How can they be so comfortable after everything? What did we miss?!" And I think it's another positive sign that for all intents and purposes the awkwardness seems to be "solved" in this episode after the car shopping. The bickering beats the awkwardness. Once the banter is back the awkwardness is gone, which makes perfect sense.

I also think it's a good sign that Lorelai knows that she wants to "fix" it. She knows they shouldn't be awkward around each other. After all that they have been to each other, they're going to turn into the kind of "friends" that only discuss how warm it is? That's not right. Annnd...we have development.

The Lorelai "taking it back" thing seems like typical LL "trying to get it together." We've had years of one of them deciding not to move forward because of a certain thing. Assuming something and then reacting without checking. Except this time, I think things will be different. No more beating around the bush. Communication, baby.

Here's hoping that the rumors about a Season 8 prove true. If so, I'm all about good tension and good drama for the rest of this season. A little of that and it should bring about that kissin' we've been hearing about.

Good point. I should have explained the messing with his head part better.
I don't think she's doing it intentionally. She knows she made a huge mistake and wants him back, but she's a little confused on how to go about it. Plus, not knowing how he feels complicates things.

SP and LG have said in interviews that they like the tension between them and that it's more challenging for them to play. Go figure.

They better be back together by the season finale.

That is what I'd prefer to happen. However, since Rory apparently doesn't say no right away and instead employs Lorelai for advice, the end of this episode seems very Rory/Lorelai-centric and there might not be room for a) Lorelai to realize she needs to go after Luke or b) for there to really be any L&L scenes afterwards

Hopefully I'm wrong.

The CL thing doesn't bother me. They need to be able to remain as friends and still be in this understanding, or else there's nothing preventing another blow up from happening with them later on.

I don't know how I feel about the song stuff coming back up in ep. 21. That means that L/L didn't talk about it or anything when it happened. That means that in 7.21, Lorelai is still denying her feelings.

I hope that L/L can talk about this in ep. 21, and not keep putting this all off until he's impressed her in the finale with the party. I don't want her truly admitting her feelings to him to be because of some grand gesture like that. I also think I wanted her to just acknowledge how she feels and go for it, this time. Not retreat and sulk and take things back she didn't intend to say, but did mean. It's a bit frustrating.

Maybe, since it seems like he overhears her the night after the singing, later in the ep, another day or two later, they actually talk about it?

The only plus side I can see here is that this is our confirmation that Luke's feeling the same way. He wouldn't be upset if he didn't want what she was singing to what she was feeling. So, I guess this means LL are on the same page, just that they're, yet again, not communicating.

So, yeah, bring on the last minute reunion in the finale...

but lorelai loves the grand gestures from men - with
max it was the daises
with chris it was paris
with digger it was the fact that it would piss of her mother
and with luke it was rory

so i doubt she will change with the grand gestures - thats how you get her attention - do the gesture
