Aw...I love them both equally. (Not Paris and Rory).

One thing I noticed was that LG was not genuinely singing. You can tell it's not her real voice...I'm guessing maybe LG is actually a very decent singer (I don't know why I feel like I read this somewhere, but I swear I did), and they couldn't have Lorelai sounding that good.

yeah I think she was def playing it down. We've only really seen snippets of her singing, but from what we've been told, she has a very good voice.

Do you mean it wasn't her normal singing voice? Or that she wasn't singing at all? Because it sounded like her to me.

Thanks for the thread Genki!! Very fitting title. LG really pulled it off, you could see Lorelai's thought processes as she sang and the transition from Rory to Luke and from nervous to vulnerable to laying it on the line. SP also totally rocked without a word he spoke volumes.

No it was her singing, but not her real singing voice. I can't explain it, but I'm positive.

According to an interview she gave recently, she was in a accapella group in college. You have nothing but vocals in that right? So, you have to be pretty good.

I think that was her singing, and when she got to the part with singing to Luke, she had to kind of tone it down for that nervous affect. I bet she can belt out a tune.

No. That clears up what you meant, for me. And I agree. (At first I thought you meant they had dubbed in someone else, a la My Fair Lady. That was why I was confused.) I think she did great "nervous" vocals. Towards the end I was also just waiting for her to burst into tears. I was so happy for her that she made it through without totally melting down in front of everyone. I was really afraid that was going to happen.
