I sent a PM off also for a "Where are they now" thread on the Gilmore board, to keep track of the stars in one place but not heard back yet.

Though talks between the starring duo - Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel - and Warner Bros. Television, which produces the show, had be ongoing for months, all parties reportedly couldn't agree on issues such as scheduling. (A source says Bledel, for one, was "open to doing an abbreviated season" - possibly 13 episdes.) Creative concerns no doubt also played a role: In 2006, Gilmore suffered a blow when exec producer Amy Sherman-Palladino departed just as it moved from the WB to The CW, and total viewership has fallen by nearly 20% since last season. "The end of Gilmore is not shocking news," says a show insider. "In fact, [the May 15] episode was conceived as a series - not season finale, right from the start."

I dont get the last line though? Weren't we told it can serve as both?

Not - mmhh must have misread a lot of other reports then.
Right from the start - sure that's why they are saying it can serve as both

I am beginning to think that LG had a lot more to do with the show ending then she wants to let on. SP's references to "lost passion" might not only be in reference to AB. I think a lot of people were led on....mainly the fans.

But if - why did she want to start as a producer?

I remember Rosenthal saying something about writing the last eisode as possible season/series finale... But my question is - if the decision was made - why the Kirks SH Tour lately?

According to her interviews, the producer title was to give her credit for her input as a senior cast member. Since ASP was gone, she filled in the gaps for the writers and helped the writers maintain continuity. Maybe she was willing to be producer but unwilling to continue putting in the acting hours. Honestly, I don't think she really cares about Lorelai as much as she used to . I'm really curious as to why all of our older info said AB was the hold out and now everything is leaning towards LG being the one to who was the deal breaker.

In the end, the result is the same. I' getting sadder the closer Tuesday comes. I am curious about the article someone posted about a wedding on GG....especially since a tour goer so wedding related items somewhere on their tour. If we see yet another wedding that isn't L&L, I'll be slightly miffed.
