About that

You know what makes me smad. The party seems to start in the afternoon because it's still bright outside when they arrive. Lorelai has the talk with Sookie when it's already dark and she kisses Luke also when it's dark So yeah the kiss will probably happen around minute 30 or later

Well it should stay open until after the upfronts, in case we have a change from them.

I think we're going to be at least 3/4 of the way through the episode before we see the kissing scene. And since the final scene will be between Lorelai and Rory at the diner, chances are we won't get any more passionate kisses in the episode. Just my guess.

I hate reading something like this about the future of "Veronica Mars":
Quote:
The fan-favorite drama is nearing a fourth season renewal, thanks to a reworking of the formula featuring the titular petite private eye. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a presentation for the proposed revamped show was well received at the CW, giving a boost to the show's chances.
[...]
Hope for a continued life came in the form of creator Rob Thomas' new concept as well as the cancellation of Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven which will leave the CW with a little wiggle room for the fall.
From here.
So, Ostroff saved her favorite show!

Thanks for the thread, Katie. Thanks, Jet for the promo. I'm glad you're feeling better, glo.

Do we know if the mods are going to let us have another thread after this one is shut down?

Don't do it too early they could give us too much

I think the kiss is the last scene of the night and we either just zoom out or we see them going back to the party arm in arm. Next scene is the morning after when the girls come to the diner.
That really gives me the boost

Craig you are so not alone. I keep hoping that something happens. Deep down I know I am crazy to hope, but there is hope none the less.
My emotions are all over the place, as much as anyone's. Sometimes I think it's good to have it over, so we don't have to hope any more, and can just start to move on.

Many posters are listing "best memories" and objectively, I agree those were excellent TV. Should we be grateful for them? It's a mixed question but there's no right or wrong. For me, the memories are still overwhelmed with sadness over the betrayals, and it still hurts knowing they'll never be put right, that we're leaving it this way.

Eventually I'll stop caring, and be able to objectively "appreciate" those scenes and those memories. But many fans stayed only out of hope, willing to go through the dark days to reach the original promise of decency and a satisfying ending that did justice to the characters and brought them back. We cared enough to want to leave them restored, in a good place. That will never happen. Some of us need to get over caring before we can again enjoy the original scenes and memories on a more superficial level.

I know I'll get there, but who knows when? When the emotions are gone and I'm left with just objective analysis, ASP and DR will never end up in my 'pro' column. I certainly won't watch another show they're involved with. Maybe I'd know to keep my emotions in check next time, but those two could still be hooking a new group of lambs to the slaughter.

Fiction is about emotions not only detached appreciation. They promised different, in their own words, then betrayed that. Otherwise, we'd likely not have hoped, had the choice to give up earlier - for many, it was their words that kept us hoping and waiting for a payoff, a satisfying conclusion, that will never come. Some posters are OK with the crumb we're getting, for others, it doesn't begin to lift the cloud, whose rain falls on all of Stars Hollow.

As to the showrunners. All the brilliance in the world - and they're not that good - will never justify their lying.

I'll have to agree with this one. I think the kiss is the last scene of the night or maybe another brief one where Rory and Lorelai are ready to head home and tell Luke they will be over in the morning and then the final scene in the diner. Aren't we the luckiest fans?

Me too, caf. I'm putting a good face on it, but I'm very hurt, too. And, it's soooo clear that season 8 was a go until ???? The TV Guide and the CW website are both schizo - 1/2 the stuff say "series" finale, and the other half "season" finale.

I'm still the most bitter about ASP who stuck a knife in her show by having Lorelai sleep with Chris.....

Tuesday: "Gilmore Girls," 8 p.m., CW (WTTV ). Now that Rory has graduated from Yale, will she ever land a job? Will her mother/best friend Lorelai finally marry brooding diner owner Luke? Since this episode was filmed before the announcement that the show was ending, don't expect any tidy wrap-ups. click
Don't we know it.

Last minute wedding - sure right after the they head straight to the gazebo where Kirk is waiting for them to marry them off

Does GG ever have any tidy wrap ups? For people that talk sooooo fast, the storylines sure can have a knack for developing veryyyyyy slowly or be dragged out wayyyy too long

I concur. You've mirrored my feelings exactly; about both L/L and R/L. It seems almost silly now that my very first spec on this forum was a double wedding...What a fool I was, in retrospect. Ah, well, you live and learn, I suppose. After all, life is usually about how to best deal with disappointment.

Yeah, that's really sad.
A couple of days ago i promised to myself that DR can't ruine the show for me so i see the bright side of this bad season7 SL.
Without this SL we never would've been able to mook Dopey like we did in the NESHBE thread.

Actually, we may be. We're certainly better off than shipper fans of The X-FIles, Moonlighting, JAG, Everwood, The West Wing, Balykissangel, etc. . . . We had a season and a half to see L/L together and happy as a couple, which is more than the fans of these shows got, and we'll end with them in a good place.

I'm still angry at the SherPa, but I don't feel "betrayed" or "lied to" by anyone this season. I feel DSR made a good faith effort to clean up the mess Amy and her little dog Danny left behind, and I believe he was telling what he truly felt was a good story. I hated the story he told, and I may have sometimes scratched my head at the execution, but he gave us some nice moments, and the last few episodes have shown that he can do good things with this show once he gets out from under the SherPa's crap pile.

As for the negotiations? Stuff happens. No one lied to us, because there was never any official word either way until the end. We were counting on rumors and mistaken "inside sources," and we were wrong.

I feel sorry for anyone who says that the last season has "tainted" the earlier episodes for them. I don't see this season as a betrayal of anything that came before it--characters made very bad decisions based on pain and anger, and I hated what some of them did, but it doesn't negate what happened earlier. I'm taking the long view of the show and its characters, and I understand that sometimes they had to through rough patches and dark spots in their stories.

I'm excited about the finale. It may not be completely satisfactory, but it sounds like it will leave everyone--L/R, L/L, L/E/R--in a nice place. It'll be easier to leave Stars Hollow knowing Rory is off on a grand adventure, L/L have found their way back to each other, Lorelai and Emily reach some sort of understanding, and the Townies are still their crazy, lovable, generous selves.

You are welcome

Well since Amy already did her job and destroyed the show for me with Partings I couldn't make that promise about DR not ruining the show for me. But he got my hopes up that we'll get at least a bit of the show and magic that was LL back. I got a glimpse of that in 19 when their banter was back, I got a glimpse of that in 20 when Lorelai sang the song but then came 21 and that tiny flame didn't survive.
