I've gotten that Lorelai is head over heels in love with Luke during the past few episodes. I don't need her to declare it. And I just think that after the whole Chris debacle, she's trying to be less impulsive. She mistook nostalgia for love then, so I understand her wanting to make sure that she doesn't do that with Luke.

Anvils, I didn't love it either. I just understand Lorelai's sentiments that nothing will change. We know she still has feelings for Luke. That was obvious even in the DC. Because if she didn't, she wouldn't complain about Luke not expressing his feelings. She just would've told Rory that she was wrong, and she mistook nostalgia for love. JMO

did anyone pay attention to Rory during the DC? i like watching her reaction to her mother in regards to Luke...often nicely telling....thought even she didn't buy the over it thing

okay, so the promo makes things so much better......watching Lorelai's face when Sookie tells her Luke did all this, the wonder on it

i really dislike the DC convo, even if I understand it....and although the writing has been better lately, gotta remember, this is still those who gave us S7...so it just feels like the last 'denial', hurrdle (sp?) before the big payoff

now more than ever though, i want that LL talk......if there's a definite 'direction' for LL and 'heavily implied' and I'm think the kiss happens right after the talk with Sookie, then I can only see some sort of talk happening

Great point. Perhaps (gasp!) it's even going so far as to show that Lorelai might have learnt something (double gasp!)

This is how I've looked at it for awhile now. Right or wrong, it beats hating on Lorelai. LOL

Saranoh I get that. And I do agree. But.. I also think that she does think he has feelings for her regardless of what she says. I love Lorelai but sometimes I want to smack her to see if she really is awake and alive! lol I think Lorelai has learned from her sham of a marriage but I just don't feel the writers are doing her any justice right now.

Can't we just agree that Lorelai is a relatively good person...but also in serious need of some self-esteem. Or a hearing aid.

This "journey" was and will always be bullsh+t. Lorelai thinking that Luke didn´t love her anymore - BS, boinking Dopey - BS, marrying that idiot - double BS.
DR could have saved this show, but he didn´t. Even IF he thought that there would be another season, he dragged out the LC crap for far too long and turned Lorelai into an even bigger idiot than ASP did....

Apart from the karaoke, I just don't get that feeling from Lorelai really. I'm just not getting any strong emotion from her with regards to Luke. Her conversations with Rory and Sookie about her feelings have been so cold and clinical. Maybe it's the denial again. Denial is fast becoming as annoying a word as 'journey'.

this whole lorelai crap makes no sense. Its bad writing plain and simple. We know dr can write. He handled the luke sl pretty well.

I've enjoyed those conversations. LOL. Plus, her interactions with Luke have also shown me that she still loves him.

totally ymmv...sometimes i see it sometimes i don't. Its sort of like hide and seek. Thats way too much effort for something that should be self-evident through the storytelling.

Wasn't their romantic relationship written like that too, though? LOL

I'm not saying that ALL their interactions show that, and I understand that. I think it's okay that they had some purely friendship scenes as well. I know I'm in the minority, but I don't chalk that up to bad writing. I just don't need to see "it" in every L/L interaction. YMMV
